The TJX Companies EDI GS1-128 Carton Labels GS1-128 CARTON LABEL – Placement Guidelines For ALL TJX Companies EDI PARTNERS: Each carton is required to have one GS1-128 label. Labels must be placed on the longest side of the carton (see OPTION 1 below). For cartons with equal width and length dimensions, the longest side of the carton is considered to be the side that runs parallel to the top flap seam of the carton. Do not place SSCC-18 bar code over a flap seam or around the corner of a carton. Do not place tape, other labels or packing material over any bar code. Master Pack cartons must be labeled as outlined in OPTION 4 below. If cartons are affixed with “human readable” GS1-128 labels, then the standard manual carton label is no longer required. If printing is required on a carton, leave the lower right hand section of the longest side open for affixing the GS1-128 label. OPTION 1: Attach 3.0 inches from vertical edge of the carton. OPTION 2: LONG SIDE Attach 1.25 inches up from the bottom horizontal edge. TURN GS1-128 LABEL and ATTACH LENGTHWISE when carton height measures between 4.25 and 6.0 inches. OPTION 3: OVERLAP GS1-128 LABEL on both SIDE and TOP sections when carton height measures less than 4.25 inches. LONG SIDE The entire SSCC-18 bar code must be visible on the side of the carton.
