What’s In A Name? We each have many titles and many roles in our lives: parent, child, sibling, friend, and, of course, in our Forever businesses, Distributor. The title of Distributor was carefully selected when we created Forever in 1978 and has served us well for over 35 years! There has never been a moment that I am not inspired by your example. You are leaders in our industry, and I am incredibly proud to be associated with you. Just as we all have different titles throughout our lives, there are many things that we say about people that join the Forever business. You take no shortcuts. You always show integrity. You are Forever grateful. You are positive. You always seek adventure. You are creative. You are brave. You are passionate. And of course, you are entrepreneurs. This is why you are Forever Business Owners. Being a Forever Business Owner means never taking no for an answer, always finding new ways to be innovative and working hard to achieve your goals. Like all entrepreneurs, you are truly responsible for the success of your own business, and your hard work and dedication will drive its growth. I hope that you are as excited to be a Forever Business Owner as I am. Being a business owner is an incredible privilege - one that some people work their whole lives for, but are never able to achieve. Use the name Forever Business Owner and wear your pin with pride! Celebrate and share your successes with those around you - part of what makes Forever the greatest opportunity in the world is the ability to help other people look and feel better and live in ways that they never dreamed possible! Your success shows your dedication to inspiring those around you. Thank you so much for all that you do and congratulations on your brand new title! Forever yours, Rex Maughan CEO

Business Basics: Sponsoring Forever’s business model is designed so that you always have support from the person who signed you up – your sponsor. As the title suggests, it’s the sponsor’s job to act as a sort of business mentor and guide. By the same token, as you begin to sponsor people into the business yourself, you will be a source of support to your own team. Here we’ve put together a short run-down of the responsibilities involved in sponsoring – from both sides. What to expect from your sponsor Who is my sponsor? Your sponsor is the person who approached you about Forever’s business opportunity and signed you up as a Distributor. They might be a friend, family member or colleague, or they could be someone you’ve just met. Regardless of your relationship with them, they are now your first point of call for any Forever-related queries. Information and advice As a new Distributor, you will need help and support to guide you through the process of building your network. Your sponsor can provide this support by arranging regular planning meetings to set short- and long-term goals for your business. Motivation and support Building a business through network marketing requires hard work and determination. Not everyone will see the potential of the opportunity straight away, and it can be disheartening when you don’t get the answer you want. At times like these it can be useful to speak to your sponsor for motivation and advice on what to do next. “I’m constantly asking my sponsor for advice on how to respond if a prospect has asked me something I’m unsure how to reply to,” says Rachel Scott, a new Distributor. “I usually tell her what I think I should reply and double check she’d respond in the same way.” Look to your network Network marketing is all about teamwork. Building a business in this way means that you have access to a whole host of individuals who each have lots of Forever Australia and New Zealand 6 knowledge about the business and the products. If you have a question that your sponsor is unable to answer, they may refer you to an upline Manager, or someone else within the team who has had more experience in the business and can help you, as Rachel explains: “Whilst I do go to my sponsor for info on specific products, I generally ask our team as a whole; we have so many people from so many different professions and backgrounds so it’s a great source for testimonials and product-related info.” Attending team meetings and local Business Presentations is a brilliant way of touching base with your network and getting this sort of advice. This is your business Remember, although your sponsor is there to provide guidance, this is your business – so take ownership of it! This is a

chance for you to build something amazing on your own terms, so follow your sponsor’s lead and get started. How to be a good sponsor What is a sponsor? You become a sponsor as soon as you sign up another individual into your team. You will now be their first point of call for any Forever-related queries and for general guidance and support. Pass on the knowledge Forever’s business model is designed to be simple and replicable so that each individual can pass on their knowledge about the Marketing Plan to new recruits. As a sponsor, you are now expected to share what you have learned and help your team members (or ‘downline’) to plan their activity going forward. A great way of doing this is by asking your new Distributor(s) to complete a First Steps to Manager guide. This handy planning tool will allow them to build a list of contacts, create solid goals and understand exactly what they need to do to achieve them. Visit foreverliving.com.au for answers to FAQs and make sure you regularly attend trainings and events to give yourself a good foundation of product knowledge. It’s also vital that you go through the Company Policy with every single prospect so that they know exactly what they are signing up to when they become a Distributor. Show them how it’s done Setting a good example is an important part of your role as a sponsor so be sure to practise what you preach. Your downline team members look to you for guidance on how to build their business – if you aren’t following the business cycle and touching your business every day, can you really expect them to be? Soaring Manager, Julianna Woods, agrees: “You have to do as you teach; you can’t expect your team to do something that you are not prepared to do yourself.” Be a team player Remember, you are not in competition with your downline – your own success depends on theirs. Invest the time to help your team members when they need it and you will be rewarded as they progress through the Marketing Plan. “To be a good sponsor I believe you have to take yourself off the agenda and focus on the goals of your team member,” says Julianna. “This means recognising they might not want what you want, or believe they can achieve more than their current situation. No matter how big or small their goals are, we should help them to see how it’s possible.” Make use of our sponsoring tools Have you made use of our specially designed sponsoring tools? To help you be a super sponsor and really build your team, check out the Literature Items at foreverliving.com.au and most importantly discoverforever.com. Here you can find online presentations and training videos, allowing you to recruit new team members, whenever and wherever you are. Sponsoring new people is what will transform your business from a means to earn a little extra spending money, to a sustainable income, so don’t be afraid – get sponsoring today and work towards an exciting future with Forever. “Setting a good example is an important part of your role as a sponsor so be sure to practise what you preach.” Forever Australia and New Zealand 7

How to ace a presentation Like those other two certainties death and taxes presentations are a fact of life, and of your job. Whether we like it or not, people are much (much!) less likely to buy into a product or project (or anything else really) if it’s presented to them badly. And key to a good presentation is feeling confident, so here are my top tips for being confident (or faking it). By Dr. Simon Raybould. Know your stuff Yes, yes, we know – you’ve heard this one before and you’d never dream of giving a presentation when you didn’t know what you were talking about. But there’s a difference between knowing your stuff and really knowing your stuff to the point where you simply can’t get it wrong, no matter how hard you try. Rehearse and revise like you did when you were taking exams at school (or harder, depending on how you did at school!). Use a checklist Write yourself a list of everything that could go wrong and that you need to check – and do it well before the event. In the heat of the moment you might forget things, but having a checklist makes sure everything you need to test has been tested. Everything from batteries to handouts gets ticked off these lists. Use your peripheral vision Make a point of becoming consciously aware of what’s in the corner of your eye. When we’re overly nervous we fixate on what is scaring us and in the case of presenters that tends to be our audiences. By making yourself aware of the other things in the room which aren’t your audience and are therefore not scary, you dilute that fixation effect. Figure out what success looks like All too often people fail to set their criteria for success – and yet they know exactly what it feels like to give a bad presentation. Ask yourself what a realistic level of success would be and aim for that. If the purpose of your presentation is to get people to sign up for something, then your job is to get them to do that; not to entertain people and get a standing ovation. You’d not judge a report by how good the binding was, would you? Nope, you’d judge it by how much it impacted on the organisation. A presentation is just the same, but spoken! Finally, remember that not only is it almost impossible to get everyone to like you and your presentation, it’s often just an ego-based measure. What counts is what counts, not how your friends (and enemies) tell you the presentation went. Dr Simon Raybould is the director of Aware Plus Ltd and a highly regarded speaker and presentation skills trainer. His third book on presentations is due out in the summer, so to be kept up to date with release dates and offers, sign up at http:// presentationgenius.launchrock.com.

Leave the stress behind Assistant Manager // Stephen Jordan I’ve lived in Italy for 30 years working in the luxury goods industry in retail and wholesale. I was lucky to come across the Forever business during a period in 2012 when I returned to the UK for family reasons. I immediately saw the power of the opportunity and where it could potentially take me. Forever for me was a chance to leave all of the stress behind. I registered with Forever without thinking twice. What attracted me to the business was working with such amazing products and knowing what they can do for your health and wellbeing. The products for me were a guarantee that my business could succeed. The people I have met through Forever are amazing and everyone is so positive and supportive – something that is very rare these days. It hasn’t always been easy building a business. I’ve been faced with many nos along the way, but with hard work and persistence, many of those who’ve originally refused have ended Sponsor // Rosytha Cony up coming back to join the business. As my experience grows and I have gained confidence, the number of people saying no is decreasing and it’s me who decides who comes into my team. I am now planning to concentrate on my Forever business full time “What attracted me to the business was working with such amazing products and knowing what they can do for your health and wellbeing.” and I want this to be my mainstream income. There are many dreams that I’d like to achieve, the main one being financial freedom, and I feel confident that Forever will deliver all that and more. It is a real privilege to be a part of such a solid organisation where you are recognised when you do something well, instead of only when you underperform, like in most other industries. I believe I am very lucky to have come across this opportunity and I truly believe there is no other business model that allows people to achieve such freedom and unlimited success.
