Product Data Castrol Activ 2T 2-Stroke Engine Oil Description Castrol Activ 2T is a mineral-based, low smoke two-stroke engine oil suitable for use in all 2-stroke Japanese and European motorcycle engines, running on either lead replacement or unleaded fuel. It is formulated to reduce the build-up of carbon deposits on critical engine parts that can restrict the flow of gases from the engine, resulting in a decrease in power or deposit-induced pre-ignition. Castrol Activ 2T is suitable for both air and water-cooled motorcycle engines whether lubricated by a petrol/oil mixture, or oil injected system. Application Castrol Activ 2T provides good lubrication for most street and off-road two-stroke motorcycles. Castrol Activ 2T is recommended for use in the following two-stroke motorcycles, both air and watercooled: Road Bikes. Motocross Bikes. Agricultural Bikes. Trail Bikes. Mini-Bikes. Mopeds. Scooters. For highly stressed engines, Castrol Power 1 TTS Racing is recommended. For some competition applications, particularly for very high engine speeds (typically greater than 14,000 rpm), Castrol A747 is the prime recommendation. Castrol Activ 2T is not recommended for water-cooled two-stroke marine outboards. Castrol Outboard Super Plus 2-Stroke oil is recommended for these applications. Castrol Activ 2T is NOT suitable for use in Stihl “4-mix” engines. Response DOT 4 Product Description Castrol Response DOT 4 is a polyglycol type brake fluid formulated to provide extra braking performance under normal driving conditions. The combination of polyglycol ethers and borate esters enable the fluid to operate at an advanced level of performance throughout its service life, offering system protection together with a high boiling point that resists vapour lock and brake fade. Product Application Castrol Response DOT 4 is suitable for use in all brake fluid systems in cars, motorcycles and light commercial vehicles requiring either a DOT 3 or DOT 4 product (excluding where a mineral oil based fluid is specified). Castrol Response DOT 4 can be used with either disc or drum brakes, including modern vehicles fitted with ABS systems. The product is also suitable for use in hydraulic clutch systems. For vehicles operating under heavier loads or extreme conditions, Castrol Response DOT 4 is recommended. Product Features & Benefits Castrol Response DOT 4 offers the following key benefits: 1. 2. 3. High boiling point easily meets or exceeds US FMVSS DOT 3 and DOT 4 wet/dry specification requirements, and offers a performance reserve over brake fluids with lower boiling points. High vapour lock temperature – greater protection against brake fluid vaporization. Advanced corrosion protection – better protection against corrosion caused by absorbed moisture, that can contribute to lower maintenance costs. B1510/01

4. 5. 6. High temperature stability – provides a greater margin for safety because the product performance will not fade under higher temperatures. Rubber swell control – contributes to efficient operation of the braking system components. Compatible with all other brake fluids that meet either DOT 3 or DOT 4 specification. Change Periods Although Castrol Castrol Response DOT 4 is formulated to withstand water absorption, all brake fluids deteriorate to some extent during use. It is strongly recommended that brake fluid be changed according to the vehicle manufacturers’ advice, or every 2 years. Furthermore, for maximum motoring safety Castrol suggests an inspection by a qualified brake specialist at least once every 20,000 km. Typical Characteristics Dry Boiling Point ! Wet Boiling Point ! Equilibrium Reflux Boiling Point (ERBP). Castrol Response DOT 4 is undyed as per US FMVSS DOT requirements for polyglycol brake fluids. It is almost water white – a faint yellow colour.

Warning for Polyglycol Brake Fluids Keep out of reach of children. Harmful if swallowed. If swallowed, rinse mouth with water and give plenty of water to drink. If vomiting occurs, give further water. Seek medical advice immediately. If splashed in eyes, flood effected area with copious quantities of water for 10 minutes. Seek medical advice immediately. Avoid skin contact. Effected areas should be washed with mild soap and water. If spilled on paintwork, wash off immediately with water – do not wipe. In the event of spills, absorb with sand or soil, collect and seal in properly labeled drums and refer to State Land Waste Management Authority for disposal. Dirt, grease and other foreign particles will affect the efficient operation of a brake system. Draw brake fluids directly from sealed containers – this reduces the possibility of moisture absorption. Reseal containers immediately after use, discard empty containers and never refill empty containers. Fluid held in partially filled containers should be discarded 12 months after opening. Topping up brake systems with lower performance fluids will reduce both system and fluid performance. If this occurs, the system should be flushed and refilled with Castrol Response DOT 4 or Castrol Response Super DOT 4 to provide full performance protection.

Health, Safety & Environment Castrol Response DOT 4 is considered non-hazardous according to Worksafe. However, in line with safe handling practices, it is recommended that the handling instructions outlined in the Castrol Material Safety Data Sheet be followed. Spillage Small: Soak up using an inert mineral adsorbent such as Castrol Diatomaceous Earth and dispose of in the appropriate manner. Large: Corrective action usually dictated by individual company safety procedures. Immediate containment and subsequent removal is essential. Disposal: Oily materials must not be allowed to enter groundwater, watercourses, sewerage or drainage systems. Refer to local Waste Disposal Authority for legal requirements. Product Removal Bare Metal Surfaces: Wash off with water or Castrol water based degreasers. Hand Cleaning: Use any of the Castrol range of hand cleaners, e.g. CareClean Plus. Other Surfaces: Wash off with water; DO NOT attempt to wipe off painted surfaces as damage to paintwork may result, as brake fluid can soften paintwork.
