Interview Summarv Jul 29 200 Page 1 Name (WITNESS) Affiliation Area Resident Telephone Type of Interview Date of Interview Jn-Person July 27 2005 On July 27 2005 the « iTNirss was intcr\ icwed at his residence by Senior Imestigator of 9 The WITNESS was interviewed as part of the Potentially Responsible rany bcaicn cui .ntly being conducted under Task 0001, Site 7 involving the Sauer Dump Dundalk, MD (the Site ) The WITNESS was provided with a copy of the letter of introduction, advised of the nature of the questions to be asked, and that the interview was voluntary The WITNESS stated that he is not represented by an attorney in this matter and does not want an attorney No other persons were present during this interv lew and the interview WBS not tape-recorded During the course of this interview the \\ ITNFSS responded to questions based on guidelines provided by the United States Environmental Protection Agency for area residents The WITNESS was shown an acnal photograph of the Site This aenal photograph was used as a reference throughout the interv lew The aenal photograph used during this interview will be forwarded under separate coxer The WITNESS was asked to explain his association with the Sauer Dump located adjacent to Lynhurst Road in Dundalk MD The WITNESS stated that he was raised at his current address and has lived there since 1 v The WITNESS stated that he was willed the property when his parents died The WITNESS was asked if he was familiar with the Site The WITNESS stated 'yes The WITNESS staled that he was fnendlv with Fntz Sauer and visited the Site occasionally When asked ifPntz Sauer disposed of waste at the Site the WITNESS stated 'yes The WITNESS stated that Fntz Sauer operated a w stc hauling business from the late 1 960s to approximately the mid- 1 980s I"hc WITNESS stated that Sauer disposed of this waste at the Site When asked the names of the waste generators from whieh Fntz Sauer hauled waste to the Site the WITNESS staled that he could only recall the name of two companies and provided the following FNFORCFMENT CONFIDENTIAL AR103030

Interview Summan ' Ju! 29 2005 Page " National Brewing Company The WITNESS stated that he obsened numerous bottles and cans from this brewery dumped at the Site The ITNESS stated that Fntz Sauer ga\e an undamaged cans of beer to man) of the neighbors on Ljnhursl Road O Brian Paint company The WITNESS stated that he had obsened numerous cans and buckets with the name t) Brian Paint Company The WITNESS stated that man of the buckets and cans contained liquids The WITNESS stated that he also observed numerous 55-gallon drums containing creosote The WITNESS stated that the drums of creosote had been brought to the Site in waste from one of Fntz Sauer s customers The WITNESS could not recall the name of this customer The WITNESS stated that most of the homes on the west side of Lynhurst Road back up to the Back River The WITNESS stated that most of the homeowners living in these homes built boat docks behind their houses The WITNESS stated that Fntz Sauer offered creosote to man) of the residents on Lynhurst Road sometime in the mid-1970s The WITNESS stated that most of the residents who had boat docks used this creosote to paint the piling used to build the boat docks When asked the names of any residents that took creo t fi *» the Site ai'J f 4ed the mlmo f - v. at ramps, the WIFNESS stated that he observed treating the piling for his boat dqckwith this creosote When asked to identify the location of the creosote drums on the Site the WITNESS stated that some of the drums were located close to the office The WITNESS stated that he had also observed drums on the ground near fill areas on the Site The WITNESS stated that much of the waste that Fntz Sauer dumped at the site was buried and he seldom had an opportunity to observe the names on any items brought to the Site When asked the names of individuals that may have knowledge of waste disposal activities at the Site the WITNESS provided the following The WITNESS stated that Sauer and was seen at the Site on numerous occasions Mas a close friend of Fntz The WITNESS was provided with a list of the following companies and asked if he had an) knowledge of waste disposal b) these firms Companies of which he had knowledge ha\e comments next to their name - Amenean Standard Inc No know ledge Anchor Post Products Inc No knowledge Autohne Oil Compan) No know ledge A\entisPharmaeeutieals Ine/Alcolae No know ledge Baltimore and Ohio Railroad No know ledge Baltimore Cit) Hospital No Knowledge Baltimore Copper Paint No know ledge FNTORCEMFNT CONFIDFNT1AL AR103031
