ADVANCED REJUVENATING CONCEPTS ARC Peel Solution Rules Our professional treatments are targeted to meet the needs of the client. This is determined with a Consultation and Skin Analysis prior to the treatment. Here are a few things you should note for every Peel Protocol: Always perform a Consultation and Skin Analysis prior to EVERY treatment. Choose a peel solution that will best suit their skin’s individual needs and give a beneficial result. Peel treatments should be administered every 4 to 6 weeks. Some exceptions may apply. Never perform a peel on broken/damaged skin. Never use hot towels or steam with our peel solutions. Never set a timer for ARC Peel Solutions, always watch for signs of over-exfoliation. Always reference your Aesthetician Checklist and Consultation Form for contraindications or allergies. We advocate waxing prior to a peel to help the client achieve a clean, refreshed look. However, never perform a face wax prior to a peel and always use Post Peel Balm on the skin around the eyebrows, lip and chin, and peel with discretion as these areas may be susceptible to burning. Post Peel Instructions for the Client See page 98 for a Post Peel Form that may be photocopied and sent home with clients. Wear Sun Protectant or Advanced Shades daily to prevent burning/damage to freshly peeled skin. If outdoors for an extended period of time, apply sunscreen every 30 minutes and wear protective clothing (sunglasses, hat, long-sleeved shirt, etc.) Do not use an exfoliating serum, mask, cream, or retinol products for at least 2 days post-treatment. Avoid hot tubs, saunas, Jacuzzis and strenuous exercise for at lease 24 hours. Avoid hair coloring or perms for at least 2 days post-treatment. Do not pick, peel, scrape or scratch any flaking skin. Tools of the Trade Having over 25 years experience in building a business and product line, there are a few basic tools that every treatment room needs. Don’t waste your money on unnecessary pieces of equipment, here are the essentials you need for ARC Clinical treatments. EQUIPMENT – keep it simple. Clinic treatment rooms should consist of an aesthetic bed, maglamp, cabinet, and/or a trolley. No need for bulky multifunction units, especially steamers or towel warmers. AESTHETIC TECHNOLOGY – At the Skin Rejuvenation Clinique, we’ve built our business using only chemical peels, the Ultrasonic Rejuvenation system, Crystal Microderm, and Crystal-Free Microderm. technology. Each of these systems is adjustable and can be customized to give every client a beneficial result. BASIC SKIN SUPPLIES – Synthetic fan peel brush, natural mask brush, synthetic body peel brush, cotton squares (we like Webril pads), round cellulose sponges, 27.5 gauge lancet for extraction assistance, dermaplaners (disposable, no scalpels), stainless steel bowls for water and small ones for peel solutions, towels and linens, disposable gloves, wooden tipped cotton swabs. Not including basic sanitation solutions (alcohol, bleach, etc). Aside from these supplies, peel treatments can be customized with ARC products. Our product suggestions are listed on the following protocol pages. 103

ADVANCED REJUVENATING CONCEPTS Signature Rejuvenation Facial Protocol Treatment time is 30 minutes to 1 hour. Frequency is every 4 to 6 weeks as needed. Do not peel clients who have broken skin, inflammation, irritation, excess dryness or sensitized skin. Step 1: Preparing the skin. Cleanse and tone with the best ARC combination for your clients skin type. Perform an eyebrow clean up with Caronlab cream hard wax, and assess the lip and chin area for excess hair growth. After waxing, apply a light layer of Post Peel to the waxed skin and avoid applying the ARC peel solution directly over these areas. Step 2: Apply the peel. Apply a light layer of peel solution with your ARC Fan Brush. Avoid direct contact with the eyes. Glycolic and lactic peels may be gently massaged over the skin surface with gloved hands. ALWAYS supervise the peel and watch for visible signs of over-exfoliation. Depending on the skin’s tolerance and sensitivity, these peel solutions may be left on the skin for up to 2 minutes. Neutralize the peel with cellulose sponges wet in tepid water. Wet the skin with two passes of the damp sponges and proceed to a second cleansing. Always cleanse thoroughly in regions of the face where the peel solution may not be reached (i.e. the nasal area, lip area and any other folds or creases present). Should the client appear overly red or frosted, apply a layer of Post Peel to the affected areas. For our Renewal Facial Treatment, apply Salicylic Peel, neutralize, then apply Lactic Peel and neutralize before proceeding to the next step. Oily skin types may benefit from a double Salicylic Peel (apply another layer of Salicylic Peel to problem areas in lieu of the Lactic Peel). For thick, oily or sun damaged skin Dermabuff may be used for added texture improving benefits after the peel has been neutralized. Apply Dermabuff to your hands and massage over the area of skin being treated. Remove Dermabuff with a lukewarm damp sponges. Step 3: Perform extractions as needed. Extract comedones as needed. Apply your preferred ARC Toner/Conditioner to a clean cotton pad, wrap the dampened pad around index fingers and gently extract blemishes. For oily skin/acne extractions, apply Clearifying Toner to the skin after extractions have been completed to help prevent the spread of bacteria. Step 4: Facial massage and mask application. Perform a facial massage with ARC Massage Cream or Natural Massage Cream. Avoid massaging active/cystic acne skin to help prevent stimulation and the spread of infection. Apply a light layer of Herbal Moisture Mask or Warming Pumpkin Mask with your ARC Natural Mask Brush. The mask may be lightly massaged while damp on the skin. Allow the mask to set for up to 15 minutes, while you perform a neck, décolleté, arm and hand massage. Remove the mask with damp cellulose sponges. Step 5: Complete the facial. Apply a moisturizer. For added hydration and collagen-boost for aging skin, apply a serum with the moisturizer. Finish with a light application of your favorite ARC Eye Complex and Sun Protectant Lotion or Advanced Shades. You can learn more about our Signature Rejuvenation Facial Protocol from our online video resources, and hands-on learning workshops. 105

ADVANCED REJUVENATING CONCEPTS Self-Neutralizing Peel Protocols No frills peel solutions, self-neutralizing peels are targeted solutions for acne, acne scarring, or sun damaged skin. Clients must qualify for these peel treatments in advance. Never perform these peels on first-time clients or individuals who do not follow post-treatment care or home care. For more information about each product, please reference the product page in this catalogue. ADVANCED REJUVENATING CONCEPTS A Retinol Peel Protocol Treatment time is 30 to 45 minutes. Apply a light layer of Glycolic (15%), Lactic or Salicylic Peel with your ARC Fan Brush. Step 3: Crystal or Crystal-Free Microdermabrasion Perform up to 2 passes of Microdermabrasion over the skin. If using Crystal Microdermabrasion technology, perform another gentle cleansing to help remove crystal residue. Step 4: Perform extractions as needed. Step 5: Complete the facial. Apply an even layer of A Retinol Peel to the face, sides of the neck, and décolleté. Finish with a light application of Sun Protectant Lotion or Advanced Shades. For optimal results, the treated areas must be left completely dry for up to 12 hours. Clients should avoid any type of moisture (steam from showers or baths, sweat, or evening cleansing); moistening of the skin can prematurely neutralize the peel and diminish results. You can learn more about our A Retinol Peel Protocol from our online video resources, and hands-on learning workshops. 107

ADVANCED REJUVENATING CONCEPTS Clearifying Peel Protocol Formulated out of a need for a targeted acne peel solution, Clearifying Peel (formerly DermaClear) is a semi-aggressive epidermal swipe that penetrates deep into the follicle to reduce acne blemishes, helps reduce cystic formation, and prevents scarring. Treatment time is 30 to 45 minutes. After waxing, apply a light layer of Post-Peel Balm to the waxed skin and avoid applying the ARC peel solution directly over these areas. Step 2: Perform extractions as needed. Step 3: Apply the peel. Apply a light layer of Clearifying Peel with your ARC Fan Brush or clean cotton pad. Avoid direct contact with the eyes. A cotton tip can be used to apply the solution as a spot treatment for cysts, papules and pustules. Avoid direct contact with the eyes. Step 4: Complete the facial. Acne clients should book appointments every 2 to 4 weeks to help successfully manage acne symptoms, prevent scarring, and manage product use. Clearifying Peel may or may not be used at each visit. You can learn more about our protocols from our online video resources, and hands-on learning workshops. 108

ADVANCED REJUVENATING CONCEPTS Rebright & Texas Ruby Peel Protocol No frills peel solutions, self-neutralizing peels are targeted solutions for acne, acne scarring, or sun damaged skin. Traditional layered Jessner peels, like Rebright and Texas Ruby have the capability to offer superficial to mid-depth exfoliation levels, and may also be referred to as the 7 to 10 day peel. Treatment time is 30 to 45 minutes. Frequency is every 6 to 12 months as needed. Clients must prepare for the facial using the Hyperpigmentation Lightening System home regimen 2 to 4 weeks prior to you administering this peel treatment. This includes: Melanin Cleanser, Lightening Cleansing Bar, Lighten Face or Lighten More and Sun Protectant. Avoid the use of these products in clients who have broken skin, irritation, excess dryness or sensitized skin. Do not use on clients who do not follow the required home regimen or post-procedural requirements. Step 1: Preparing the skin. Cleanse and tone with Melanin Cleanser and Clearifying Toner. Step 2: Apply the peel. Apply an even layer of Rebright or Texas Ruby Peel to the face with your ARC Fan Brush. Avoid direct contact with the eyes. Using a hand-held fan, dry the layer of solution before applying the next. Continue applying layers of the solution until optimal frosting is achieved–this may take up to 6 layers of solution. Regions of the face that have not frosted optimally may receive additional layers to the region only. Once up to 6 layers of solution has been applied, continue fanning the face and monitoring the client’s response. Never leave the client unattended. If the client’s eyes begin to water, use tissue or clean cotton pads to prevent the tears from neutralizing the solution. For optimal results, the peel must be allowed to absorb into the skin. This is achieved by leaving the skin dry for up to 48 hours. Clients should avoid any type of moisture to the skin (showers, sweat or evening cleansing). Do not apply any product to the skin, including sunscreen. Post Peel is mandatory to assist with the peeling and recovery process. IDEAL EXPECTATIONS: Within 48 hours, their skin will begin to feel tight, dry, darkened and aged looking. The dry skin will start to crack and peel. At this time, the client must use Melanin Cleanser and Post Peel to gently cleanse and accelerate the peeling process. As peeling persists, the skin may appear flushed. The client must continue the above products and add Regenerating Cream and Sun Protectant Lotion or Advanced Shades to their regimen. As peeling slows, a follow-up appointment must be scheduled to monitor progress and the clients regimen. A gentle scrub with Dermabuff or Revitalizing Scrub may be done, or a light pass of Crystal-Free/Diamond Microdermabrasion. About 14 days after the peel application, the client may resume his/her regular regimen. You can learn more about our protocols from our online video resources, and hands-on learning workshops. 109
