Halloween Safety Tips From The Classroom Of: Have a Really Good Halloween this year by helping your kids stay safe. By following the basic safety tips below, you can ensure that your child will have fun and remain safe while Trick-or-Treating. Happy Halloween! Children should always go Trick-or-Treating with a trusted adult. Make sure teenagers go in a group and are at least 14 years old. Grown-ups should always accompany the child to the door. Go only to familiar houses that have their exterior lights on. Never go into people's homes. If someone asks you or your child to enter their home, politely decline. Stay on sidewalks and well-lit streets. Do not take shortcuts through alleyways or across lawns. Never go near, or up to, any vehicle. Wear reflective clothing or add reflective strips to your child's costume. Make sure that your child can see out of, breathe through, and walk in his or her costume without tripping. Always carry a flashlight to help you see where you are going and so that others see you. Check your child’s treats before they eat them. If someone tries to grab your child, teach him to yell as loud as he can. Yelling words like, "Help!", "Stranger!" and "Police!" are much more likely to draw attention and attract help. www.ReallyGoodStuff.com
