Pre-Install Procedure1. Inspect all components in the kit2. Chock rear wheels, lift front of vehicle, and supportFrame.3. On vehicles equipped with electric power steering,remove the 6 bolts holding the factory skid plateand unplug the 3 connectors attached to theelectric power steering.6. Remove Speed Sensor wire from mounting clips.Installation4. Remove front driver side wheel5. Loosen the upper strut nuts, but it is not requiredfor the nuts to be removed.KG09140Page 2INS09140

7. Remove the sway bar nut and bushings.a. Use a socket on the bottom of the sway bar endlink under the control arm to hold the end linkfrom spinning.9. Remove the steering link nut and separate steeringlink from Knuckle using a proper separator tool.8. Remove the upper ball joint nut and separate theball joint from the knuckle using a proper separator.a. Caution: On vehicles equipped with 4WD, donot allow the CV axel to separate from the frontdifferential.10. Remove the lower strut mount bolts to separate thestrut from the lower control arm.KG09140Page 3INS09140

13. Using provided hardware, fasten the lower strutmount and Daystar spacer to the lower control arm.11. Remove the lower strut mount bolt clips.14. Tighten upper strut nuts to factory specifications.12. Install Daystar strut spacer under lower strutmount, between the lower strut mount and thelower control arm.KG0914015. Reinstall the upper ball joint to the knuckle usingthe factory nut and torque to factory specifications,a. Use an allen wrench on the bottom of the balljoint to hold the ball joint from spinning.Page 4INS09140

16. Reinstall the steering link to the knuckle using thefactory nut and torque to factory specificationsa. Use a second wrench on the bottom of the jointto hold the joint from spinning.18. Reinstall Speed Sensor wire onto mounting clips.17. Reinstall the sway bar nut and bushings and torqueto factory specifications.a. Use a socket on the bottom of the sway bar endlink under the control arm to hold the end linkfrom spinning19. Reinstall front driver side wheel.20. Repeat installation process on passenger side.KG09140Page 5INS09140

Post Installation21. On vehicles equipped with electric power steering,plug in the 3 connectors attached to the electricpower steering, and reinstall the factory skid plateusing the 6 factory bolts.22. Apply kit label (warning) onto dashboard in plainsight of all vehicle occupants.23. Adjust headlights.24. Check all fasteners to ensure they are tightened toproper specifications.25. Ensure all wires, hoses, cables, etc. are properlyconnected and there is ample slack.26. Check steering and suspension in all positions toensure that there is no bind and adequate clearancebetween all moving, fixed and heated members.27. Check operation of the brake system, parking brake,and clutch (if applicable).28. Check operation of transmission and transfer case(if applicable).29. Ensure there is full engagement in all gears and4WD ranges (if applicable).30. Have a professional wheel alignment performedafter installing the kit.31. Test drive vehicle.32. Retorque all Nuts and Bolts after 500 miles.KG09140Page 6INS09140

We strongly recommend, because of rolloverpossibility, that seat belts and shoulder harness be worn atall times. Avoid situations where a side rollover may occur.Braking performance and capabilities are decreased whensignificantly large/heavier tires and wheels are used. Takethis into consideration while driving. Also, speedometerrecalibration is necessary when larger tires are installed.ESTABLISHED IN 1977Do not add, alter, or fabricate any factory or after-marketparts which increase vehicle height over the intendedheight of the Daystar Product purchased. Mixingcomponent brands, lifts, and/or combining body lift withsuspension lift voids all warranties. Daystar makes noclaims regarding lifting devices and excludes any and allimplied claims. We will not be responsible for anyproducts that is altered.Notice to Dealer and Vehicle OwnerAny vehicle equipped with any Daystar Product must havethe “Warning to driver” decal installed on the sun visor ordash. The decal is to act a constant reminder for whoeveris operating the vehicle of its unique handlingcharacteristics. INSTALLING DEALER— It is yourresponsibility to install the warning decal and forwardthese instructions on to the vehicle owner for review andto be kept in the vehicle for service life.After installation occurs, a qualified alignment facility isrequired to align the vehicle to factory specs.WARNINGThis vehicle has been modified to enhance its performance. The steering, braking and handling of this vehicle will differ from standardpassenger cars and trucks. This vehicle handles differently from an ordinary vehicle in driving conditions which may occur on streets, highwaysand off road. Avoid unnecessary abrupt maneuvers, sudden stops, sharp turns and other driving conditions that could cause loss of control,possibly leading to a roll over or other accident that could result in serious injury or death to driver and passengers.
