Versatile and flexible in all settings, Kristina is constantly striving to connect with new anddiverse audiences using classical training and a passion for popular music to defy expectations andexpand perceptions of the harp.Kristina has served as the principal harpist for the Miami Symphony Orchestra (MISO), Florida LakesSymphony Orchestra, and as a guest artist with the Florida Grand Opera, Nu Deco Ensemble, BrevardSymphony Orchestra, Gay Men’s Chorus of South Florida, and Southwest Florida SymphonyOrchestra. Along with orchestral playing, Kristina is a passionate chamber and solo musicianperforming with ensembles of all shapes and sizes. Her primary ensemble, the Kontra Duo withsaxophonist Dannel Espinoza, performs recitals throughout the continental United States. Otherregularly performing ensembles include the Jewel Tones with French Hornist Amanda Moskowitzand Artemis94 with harpist Rosanna Moore.As an educator and soloist Kristina is an in-demand guest lecturer, coach, and performer that presentsa fresh and unique perspective to students of all ages. Kristina taught piano at the Pine Crest Schoolin Boca Raton from 2018-2020 and runs the Mississippi Harp Academy, serving students from allwalks of life, and believes that the harp should be accessible to people of all kinds regardless of theirage, race, religion, gender, or socioeconomic background. Kristina served as harp faculty at theLuzerne Music Center in Lake Luzerne, NY for the summers of 2017 & 2018, where she worked withstudents from across the globe. Kristina offers masterclasses, recitals, lessons (live and internet), andacademic lectures throughout the US.Kristina began playing the harp in her hometown of Williamsburg, VA at the age of 8, and receivedher Bachelor of Music degree and Doctorate of Musical Arts in Harp Performance and Literaturefrom the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY (2008, and 2015 respectively), and Master ofEOE/F/M/VETS/DISABILITY

Musical Arts degree from Florida State University in Tallahassee (2010). Besides her musical activities,Kristina is also a contributor to Harp Column Magazine and the host/creator of “Harp ColumnPodcast.”Rachel Taratoot Ciraldo, FluteRachel Taratoot Ciraldo joined the Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra as their principal Flutist in2005. She is also the Principal Flutist of the Meridian Symphony Orchestra (Meridian, MS) andSecond Flutist of the Gulf Coast Symphony Orchestra (Biloxi, MS). She is an active chambermusician and performs regularly with classical guitarist and husband, Nicholas Ciraldo, in DuoCintemani, and in Lagniappe Trio, with harpist Stephanie Gustafson-Amfahr and violist ChristopherLowry.Rachel Taratoot Ciraldo is an award winner of several international flute competitions, including the2007 National Flute Association’s Young Artist Competition, 2006 Byron Hester Flute Competition,2002 James Pappoutsakis Memorial Flute Competition and the 1998 Flute Festival Mid-South YoungArtist Competition. From 2007-2013, she was Instructor of Flute at Southeastern LouisianaUniversity from and has served as a visiting instructor of flute at both Louisiana State University andthe University of Southern Mississippi.Ciraldo holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Indiana University and a Master of Music degree fromBoston University. Her main teachers include Amy Porter, Thomas Robertello, Marianne Gedigian,and Jill Felber. As a resident of Hattiesburg, MS, Rachel serves on the development staff of and is aperformer in FestivalSouth, a month-long cultural arts festival, affecting social and economic growthof the Gulf region through arts programming and advocacy. Rachel loves traveling, homeimprovement projects, and gardening, and has one amazing son, Luca.Dannel Espinoza, Alto SaxophoneDescribed as having an “effective sense of phrasing and dynamic sensitivity” (Florida ClassicalReview), saxophonist Dannel Espinoza is an award-winning soloist and chamber musician. Lauded asone of the outstanding young artists in his field, Dr. Espinoza is a D’Addario Performing Artist, ia.In demand as a recitalist, guest artist, and clinician, Dr. Espinoza performs regularly with ensemblesand orchestras in south Florida and has worked with students at schools throughout North Americaand Europe. As a soloist, Dr. Espinoza was awarded second prize at the Music Teachers NationalAssociation Young Artist Competition, and was winner of the Arizona Music Teachers AssociationYoung Artist Competition (2006 and 2007), Tucson Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition(second place 2006), and was named the winner of the Southwest Region for the Music TeachersNational Association Young Artist Competition (2007).Dr. Espinoza is a founding member, and soprano saxophonist, of the award-winning saxophonequartet Project Fusion, an ensemble that has been praised for “elevating the saxophone to its rightfulthrone.”(LA Splash Magazine) In 2013, Project Fusion attracted national attention through the uniquefeat of performing musical programs exclusively from memory, reaching critical acclaim by becomingthe first saxophone quartet to be awarded the Grand Prize and Audience Choice Award atthe Plowman Chamber Music Competition. In that same year they were also awarded 1st place atthe Music Teacher National Association Chamber Music Competition and Gold Medal at the FischoffChamber Music Competition. Project Fusion has also won top prizes at the Arriaga Chamber MusicCompetition (2012) as well as the Coleman-Saunderson award at the Coleman International ChamberEnsemble Competition (2012).EOE/F/M/VETS/DISABILITY

An avid chamber musician, Dr. Espinoza has taken part in many ensembles of all shapes and sizes.Formed in 2010, Kontra Duo with harpist Kristina Finch released their first (self-titled) album in2014, which has been described as energetic, sweet, sassy, graceful, and muscular. Dr. Espinoza alsoserved as the inaugural assistant director to the Eastman Saxophone Project – the first conductor-lesssaxophone ensemble in the United States to perform completely from memory. Previous chambermusic accolades include being the first saxophonist to win the Alice Coleman-Grand Prize atthe Coleman International Chamber Ensemble Competition, and residencies with National MusicFestival, Bravo! Vail Valley Music Festival, Hot Springs Music Festival, Ethos New MusicSociety, Music in the Mountains, Festival of New American Music, and The Artist Series ofTallahassee.An exciting arranger, Dr. Espinoza has produced many arrangements for saxophone ensemble,quartet, and duet for saxophone and harp. These arrangements include Stravinsky’s Rite of Spring forsaxophone ensemble, which was premiered by the Eastman Saxophone Project and experienced byover 20,000 viewers in three days via YouTube, Saint-Saëns’ Danse Macabre for saxophone ensemble,Borodin’s String Quartet No.2 for saxophone quartet, Saint-Saëns’ Fantaisie for Violin and Harp forsaxophone and harp, as well as many others.Dannel Espinoza is the Assistant Professor of Saxophone at The University of Southern Mississippi inHattiesburg, MS. Dr. Espinoza maintains a busy chamber and solo performing schedule. Hecompleted his Doctor of Musical Arts in saxophone performance and literature with a minor inconducting at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY; where he was also awarded theprestigious Performer’s Certificate. His Bachelors and Masters degrees were earned at NorthernArizona University, and Florida State University, respectively. His primary teachers include JonathanBergeron, Patrick Meighan and Chien-Kwan Lin. Dr. Espinoza has served on the faculty of The PineCrest School in Boca Raton, FL, Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, FL and Roberts WesleyanCollege in Rochester, NY, and served as the teaching assistant at both Florida State University andthe Eastman School of Music.Nicholas Ciraldo, GuitarNicholas Ciraldo is a leader among his generation of American classical guitarists. At the start of hiscareer, he won awards and reached high levels at the Tredrez-Locquemau International GuitarCompetition (France), the Gaetano Zinetti International Chamber Music Competition (Italy), theGFA Solo Guitar Competition (USA), the Portland International Guitar Competition (USA), and theMTNA Guitar Competition (USA). Ciraldo now pursues numerous solo, chamber, and concertoperformances across four continents, now having played in such venues as the United States’ JordanHall, Germany’s Berliner Dom, and Brazil’s Teatro José Maria Santos.Soundboard magazine states that Nicholas Ciraldo’s performances are “without reservations,marvelous with abundant technique and commitment to the music one of the best .”Allmusic.com describes his playing “goes right to the heart of the music, with his precise, active,athletic style.” The Baton Rouge Advocate writes that Ciraldo is “definitely in command .generatinga collective gasp of amazement in the audience.” Kansas City’s Journal of the Performing Arts saysCiraldo’s “touch was nimble and delicate, skilled without being flashy. The instrument was a clearextension of the performer, with integrity of sound and performance taking precedence.”As an avid chamber musician, Nicholas Ciraldo has collaborated with harpist Franziska Huhn, guitaristEliot Fisk, trumpet player Brian Shaw, violinist Stephen Redfield, and the Quadrivium Guitar Quartetin various chamber music performances. Currently, Dr. Ciraldo performs regularly with flutist RachelTaratoot Ciraldo, in Duo Cintemani. Most recently, Ciraldo taught at the School of Music and Fine Arts in Curitiba, Brazil, theIndustrial University of Santander, in Bucaramanga, Colombia, and the University of Costa Rica. Hehas given numerous lectures and masterclasses throughout North and South America.Nicholas Ciraldo held diverse positions with several arts organizations. He was Artistic Director ofthe Boston Classical Guitar Society and Vice President of Austin Classical Guitar. He was co-founderof the Hammer/Nail Project, a collegiate program that links student composers with guitarists andshows how to write for the guitar in the most idiomatic way possible. He was UndergraduateCoordinator as well as Associate Director of the Southern Miss School of Music.Nicholas Ciraldo earned a Bachelor of Music from Indiana University at Bloomington, where hestudied with Ernesto Bitetti. He earned a Master of Music with Honors and Distinction inPerformance from the New England Conservatory of Music, where he studied with David Leisner.He earned a Doctor of Musical Arts from the University of Texas at Austin as a three-year recipientof the “Freeman Fellowship” and student of Adam Holzman. His doctoral research involved the“1928 Manuscript” of the Etudes for Guitar by Heitor Villa-Lobos. He has released three full-lengthcompact-disc recordings.Nicholas Ciraldo is Full Professor of the University of Southern Mississippi School of Music, inHattiesburg, where he manages the guitar program. He has received several awards and grants,including the College of Arts and Letters’ Creative Activity Award, the Lucas Faculty ExcellenceAward, and the Mississippi Arts Commission’s Performing Artist Fellowship.
