INSTRUCTIONAL PACKAGEPART I: COURSE INFORMATIONEffective Term: 2017-2018COURSE PREFIX: EGR 296COURSE TITLE: Engineering Surveying Lab IICONTACT HOURS: 3.0CREDIT HOURS: 1.0RATIONALE FOR THE COURSE:This course will provide the student with the basic knowledge and use of different types of advancedsurveying equipment used in the field for surveying such as Robotic Total Station with data collectors and GPS.This course will give the student experience with the use of advanced surveying equipment, surveycomputations and preparation of survey plans from processed field data using AutoCAD Civil 3D & SurveyingSoftware.COURSE DESCRIPTION:This course covers locating buildings and other objects within a boundary survey, performing a topographicsurvey, preparing a topographic map, and staking out a horizontal curve.PREREQUISITES/CO-REQUISITES:(Credit level EGR 286 Minimum Grade of C or Credit level EGR 286 Minimum Grade of TC)REQUIRED MATERIALS:Please visit the Bookstore online site for most current textbook information. The Add/Drop Period is the first 5 days of the semester for full term classes. Add/Drop periods are shorter foraccelerated format courses. Please refer to the academic calendar for deadlines for add/drop (ACADEMICCALENDAR). You must attend at least one meeting of all of your classes during that period. If you do not, youwill be dropped from the course(s) and your Financial Aid will be reduced accordingly.Part IV: AttendanceHorry-Georgetown Technical College maintains a general attendance policy requiring students to be presentfor a minimum of eighty percent (80%) of his or her classes in order to be eligible to receive credit for anycourse. However, due to the varied nature of courses taught at the College, a more rigid attendance policymay be required by individual instructors. At a minimum, a student may be withdrawn from a course(s) afterhe or she has been absent in excess of ten percent (10%) of the total contact hours for a course.
