Oracle IT Analytics Cloud Service is a software-asa-service solution that provides you with 360degree insight into the performance, availability, and capacity of your applications andinfrastructure investments. It enables line-ofbusiness executives, analysts, and administratorsto make critical decisions about their IToperations based on comprehensive system anddata analysis. Organizations can now becomemore proactive by identifying systemic issues, analyzing resource usage across application tiers, and forecasting future demand for services basedon historical performance trends.OPTIMIZE CAPACITY AND PLAN FOR FUTUREBUSINESS GROWTHIf you are an analyst, capacity planner or CIO, you need visibility into resourceusage trends for your critical applications so that you can optimize your cost andplan for future growth. Oracle IT Analytics Cloud Service provides smart resourceanalysis by leveraging deep monitoring data collected from databases, applications, servers and storage. With Oracle IT Analytics Cloud Service you can: Analyze resource trends of your database and middleware systems on awide range of characteristics to compare it with available capacity Identify the top resource consumption and its rate of growth Increase resource utilization by identifying under- and over-utilization Analyze by different dimensions such as; cost center, lifecycle status, e.g.production or test, platform or software version, and to identify topconsumers or excess capacity Plan and forecast future resource usage collectively or by individual assetKey Business Benefits Key Features Figure 1. MAXIMIZE PERFORMANCE AND AVAILABILITYCurrent enterprise monitoring systems provide very good visibility to the currentand recent health of applications and can help to isolate problems of a singlecomponent. However, they lack capabilities to analyze workloads acrossapplication tiers, (whether on-premise, or in the cloud) and over longer timeframes, such as across business cycles, e.g. product launches or fiscal year close, toidentify problem areas.Performance Analytics for DatabaseOracle IT Analytics Cloud Service allows customers to perform historical, comparative analysis to reveal the major bottlenecks affecting enterprise-widedatabase and associated application performance. Oracle IT Analytics CloudService’s Performance Analytics for Database capabilities, enables you to examinethe aggregate performance by various dimensions in order to: Determine the root-cause of recurring systemic problems Identify common performance findings across your databases Identify performance profile and activity types for a single or group ofdatabases activities to uncover CPU or I/O bottlenecks Analyze SQL queries across multiple databases in order to identify whichSQL statements are consuming the most database time and to helpunderstand the trend of each query’s performancePerformance Analytics for MiddlewareEnterprise applications are inherently complex and run on wide variety of systemsand versions. Oracle IT Analytics Cloud Service provides out-of-box analytics toidentify the most common resource bottlenecks encountered by applicationservers, such as issues with JDBC connections, Java heap settings or incompatibleJDK versions. Oracle IT Analytics Cloud Service’s Performance Analytics forMiddleware feature allows administrators to spot widespread problems such asgarbage collection and data source connection issues and provides actionableinsight to resolve the problem.Figure 2. GAIN DEEP INSIGHT THROUGH DATA EXPLORERSTraditional monitoring systems collect terabytes of data such as systems topology, performance metrics, configuration, and events, to name a few. However, fewsolutions provide capabilities to search browse or perform advanced analytics onthe vast array of operational data and over the long term. With Oracle IT AnalyticsCloud Service, administrators can take advantage of the solution’s interactivedashboards and reports to explore, analyze and gain insight from this data. Thesolution also allows you to build and publish custom dashboards to keystakeholders, e.g. line of business executives or heads of infrastructure oroperations.Oracle Management Cloud Search and Explore Operational DataOracle IT Analytics Cloud Service enables you to easily search, browse, compareand contrast systems that are either on-premise or in the cloud.Using the easy-to-use drag-and-drop interface, the Data Explorers allows you toperform all types of complex analysis within a few clicks, such as: Asset analysis such as; distribution of Oracle WebLogic Servers byversions across enterprise-wide hardware platforms Configuration analysis of database servers with associated core count, applied patches and installed options Perform real-time performance snapshots such as; the top 25 OracleWebLogic Server workload by requests or heap utilization. Advanced Custom AnalyticsAn important and crucial role for analysts is to perform ad-hoc analytics on IToperational data to identify trends or patterns specific to the business unit orbusiness process. Understanding historical trends, correlation betweenperformance and events helps analysts to determine the top consumers ofresources or sources of cost inefficiencies. Oracle IT Analytics Cloud Serviceprovides a built-in analytical platform with out-of-the box and user-definedapplications to allow users to create and publish tailored dashboards and reports.
