A personal message from the Editor in ChiefWill Mankind “Obliterate” the Bible?If you honestly look at the facts, most of ourWestern, formerly professing “Christiannations” are swiftly turning away from almostevery vestige of biblical morality.No! I am not kidding! The very few who still believethe Bible need to face that absolute fact. For Godis not mocked. And when you Tomorrow’s Worldsubscribers read about or see on your televisionnews of the continuing breakup of the traditionalfamily unit, when you see increasing millions ofyoung people “living together” without benefitof marriage, when you see increasing millionsof children growing up without two parents—orperhaps with no parents—when you see our financialcrisis growing even worse, when you see unusualupset weather conditions, powerful earthquakesand soon-to-come horrible disease epidemics,please realize that our Creator specifically warned usof these many disasters. Again, God is not mocked!Writing about the supposedly educated andsmart people of his time, the Apostle Paul stated:“Professing to be wise, they became fools” (Romans1:22).Then Almighty God inspired Paul to continue:“For this reason God gave them up to vile passions.For even their women exchanged the natural usefor what is against nature. Likewise also the men,leaving the natural use of the woman, burnedin their lust for one another, men with mencommitting what is shameful, and receiving inthemselves the penalty of their error which wasdue. And even as they did not like to retain God intheir knowledge, God gave them over to a debasedmind, to do those things which are not fitting” (vv.26–28). No, rebellious carnal mankind does not liketo retain God in its knowledge. For the true God—theGod of the Bible—shines His “light” of Truth andrighteousness on those willing to listen. But, asJesus said, “ men loved darkness rather than light,because their deeds were evil” (John 3:19).Also, God inspired the Apostle Paul to describe thenormal, fleshly “carnal mind” of most humans: “Forto be carnally minded is death, but to be spirituallyminded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is2Tomorrow’s World January-February 2014enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law ofGod, nor indeed can be” (Romans 8:6–7). Notice the“key” issue! The mind of most people is at “enmity”against God. Why? “For it is not subject to the law ofGod.”Rebellion Against LibertyRebellious human beingsdo not like a God whocommands them whatto do! So they—perhapsunwittingly—areinfluenced by Satan theDevil to be at “enmity”against their very Creatorand His righteous law—described in His word asthe “law of liberty” (James 2:12).Speaking to our forefathers, Almighty God warnedthose who disobey Him, “I will even appoint terrorover you, wasting disease and fever which shallconsume the eyes and cause sorrow of heart. And youshall sow your seed in vain, for your enemies shall eatit” (Leviticus 26:15–16).As we have pointed out many times, the Hebrewword translated “terror” can certainly include themeaning of “terrorism”—the very first warningsign God gave our western nations on September11, 2001! Later in this same scriptural passage, Godstated: “And after all this, if you do not obey Me, thenI will punish you seven times more for your sins. Iwill break the pride of your power; I will make yourheavens like iron and your earth like bronze. Volume 16, Issue 1 January-February 2014increasingly destroy our people, and as our nationalpower and prestige continue to plummet downward,the great God—the God of the Bible—remains alive!And if we “obliterate” the Bible from our ownunderstandings—if we do not come to heartfeltindividual and national repentance—then theGod of the Bible will obliterate our God-rejecting,rebellious and terribly immoral societies!For God warned our peoples of the terribleconsequences of rebellion against their Creatorand His instructions. Among them: “The alien whois among you shall rise higher and higher above you,and you shall come down lower and lower. He shalllend to you, but you shall not lend to him; he shall bethe head, and you shall be the tail” (Deuteronomy28:43–44).Chastisement and Change Ahead!Please wake up! This is real. It is now beginning toaffect your very lives and the lives of your friends, yourchildren and your grandchildren.For as carnal mankind tries to “obliterate” the Bibleand to stamp out the deep respect mankind oughtRebellious human beings maytry to obliterate God’s word, butthey will ultimately fail!to feel for God and His inspired word, the very realGod will “chastise” our entire rebellious society. Hewill soon replace the God-forsaking and God-forsakensociety with the Kingdom of God! As the inspiredApostle Peter stated, the great God will soon “ sendJesus Christ, who was preached to you before, whomheaven must receive until the times of restorationof all things, which God has spoken by the mouth ofall His holy prophets since the world began” (Acts3:20–21). An entire new society will be established atthe Second Coming of Jesus Christ as King of kingsto rule over the nations here on this earth (Revelation5:10).The Ten Commandments will become the veryfoundational principles for perfect governmentunder Jesus Christ. Men will learn to deeplyrespect and honor their parents—that is the fifthcommandment. They will not commit adultery orbreak up the normal family in any way by perversionor other means. Families will be strong and teachtheir children to love the ways of God and learn howto love God and how to love other human beingsmade in the image of God. Mankind will then trulyunderstand that Jesus Christ really meant it whenHe stated: “Man shall not live by bread alone, but byevery word of God” (Luke 4:4).Rebellious human beings may try to obliterateGod’s word, but theyBIBLE STUDYwill ultimately fail!COURSEInstead, AlmightyEnroll for free atGod will obliterateTWBibleCourse.orgall human societiesand nations that defy Him, that “despise” Hiscommandments and that are, even now, bringingupon millions of human beings a degree of despair,suffering and seeming hopelessness almost beyondbelief.Christ and the Bible Vindicated!Describing the soon-coming and very real Kingdomor Government of God under Jesus Christ, yourBible states: “He will bring justice to the poor of thepeople; He will save the children of the needy, and willbreak in pieces the oppressor Yes, all kings shall falldown before Him; all nations shall serve Him. For Hewill deliver the needy when he cries, the poor also,and him who has no helper. He will spare the poorand needy, and will save the souls of the needy. Hewill redeem their life from oppression and violence;and precious shall be their blood in His sight” (Psalm72:4–14).Are you preparing for that wonderful prophesiedtime? Are you studying your Bible? As thousands of you Tomorrow’s Worldsubscribers are no doubt aware, the vastmajority of professing Christians havevery little knowledge of what the Bibleactually says. Many respected, independent pollstershave clearly demonstrated for years that mostchurchgoers very seldom study their Bibles. Somewill often read an occasional Psalm or “inspirational”portion of the Bible. But far fewer actually studythe Bible to sincerely seek understanding of God’spurpose, His way of life and His will as to how wehumans should live.Sadly, because they do not understand God’s plan,millions of professing Christians have no idea thatwhen Jesus Christ returns to this earth, everythingis going to change. First of all—as we have provedrepeatedly in this magazine—the ultimate reward fortrue Christians is not “going off to heaven forever”with nothing to do. Describing Jesus Christ’s SecondComing, your Bible states, “Then the seventh angelsounded: and there were loud voices in heaven,saying, ‘The kingdoms of this world have become thekingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shallreign forever and ever!’” (Revelation 11:15).So Christ will soon rule “the kingdoms of thisworld”—not up in heaven! Secondly, His saints willassist Him in teaching and ruling over the nationsright here on earth. As Revelation 5:9–10 pointsout, Christ has redeemed us by His blood and has“made us kings and priests to our God; and we shallreign on the earth.” Therefore, soon after Christ’sSecond Coming, the entire world will begin to learn topractice God’s way of life.Notice what your own Bible describes aboutthis soon-coming joyous era. After describing howJerusalem will be taken in battle and “half of the cityshall go into captivity,” the Bible tells us that Christwill go forth to fight the nations and “His feet willstand on the Mount of Olives” (Zechariah 14:1–4).In verse nine, the story continues, “And the Lordshall be King over all the earth.” Continuing in verse16, Almighty God tells us in His inspired word: “Andit shall come to pass that everyone who is left of allthe nations which came against Jerusalem shall goup from year to year to worship the King, the Lordof hosts, and to keep the Feast of Tabernacles. And itshall be that whichever of the families of the earth donot come up to Jerusalem to worship the King, theLord of hosts, on them there will be no rain. GOD ’S M AST E R P L A N !family of Egypt will not come up and enter in, theyshall have no rain; they shall receive the plague withwhich the Lord strikes the nations who do not comeup to keep the Feast of Tabernacles. This shall bethe punishment of Egypt and the punishment of allthe nations that do not come up to keep the Feast ofTabernacles” (Zechariah 14:16–19).My friends, can we believe what the Bible actuallysays? Think! Most of you reading this grew up in“traditional” Protestant and Catholic churcheskeeping Christmas and Easter. Yet those days—likemany other religious festivals on church calendars—are never even mentioned in your Bible!Why is this? Why do most people today ignorethe seven festivals that God establishes in His word,which Scripture shows will soon be observed by allthe world in Christ’s coming Kingdom—a time of“restoration of all things” (Acts 3:20–21)?The amazing truth is that God’s plan for mankindis revealed in the seven annual festivals He gave Hispeople in the Bible. If you who read this are willingto do what God says now, you will end up being“pioneers” in obeying your Creator and will certainlybe among those kings and priests assisting Christ inruling the entire world and bringing about an entireworld full of peace, prosperity and joy which the worldhas always longed for but never been able to achieve.God’s own calendar reveals His master plan for ourworld—and for you!God’s Calendar: Seven Commanded FestivalsIn your Bible, you will find that Jesus Christ and theapostles did observe the religious festivals describedPentecost was not merely a “one-time event.” Forlater in the book of Acts, Luke’s inspired account tellsus that Paul was going to observe another Pentecost:“For Paul had decided to sail past Ephesus, so thathe would not have to spend time in Asia; for he washurrying to be at Jerusalem, if possible, on the Day ofPentecost” (Acts 20:16).Earlier in Acts 20, Luke wrote about his travels withPaul: “But we sailed away from Philippi after the Daysof Unleavened Bread, and in five days joined themat Troas, where we stayed seven days” (Acts 20:6). SoPaul and his companions were observing the “Days ofUnleavened Bread” in a Gentile city—just as they, infact, observed all of God’s Holy Days throughout thebook of Acts.Interestingly, in the very pagan Gentile cityof Corinth, Paul—the apostle to the Gentiles—commanded the Christian brethren: “Your gloryingis not good. Do you not know that a little leavenleavens the whole lump? Therefore purge out the oldleaven, that you may be a new lump, since you trulyare unleavened. For indeed Christ, our Passover,was sacrificed for us. Therefore let us keep the feast,not with old leaven, nor with the leaven of maliceand wickedness, but with the unleavened bread ofsincerity and truth” (1 Corinthians 5:6–8).So, here is a New Testament command forthe Gentiles at Corinth to “keep the Feast”—definitely the Feast of Unleavened Bread whichGod commanded in the Old Testament and whichcontinued to be kept until it and other apostolicpractices were stamped out by a professingChristianity that brought in more and morepagan festivals in placeof those Almighty Godhad commanded. As therespected Protestanthistorian, Jesse LymanHurlbut—writing about theperiod between 313ad and 476ad—acknowledges:“The forms and ceremonies of paganism graduallycrept into the worship. Some of the old heathenfeasts became church festivals with change of nameand worship. About 405ad images of saints andmartyrs began to appear in the churches, at first asmemorials, then in succession revered, adored, andworshipped” (The Story of the Christian Church, p. 79).GOD’S OWN CALENDAR REVEALS HIS MASTERPLAN FOR OUR WORLD—AND FOR YOU!in the Old Testament. They are not “Jewish”festivals but religious observances commanded forall human beings, which—as we saw in Zechariah14—absolutely will be observed by the entire worldin a few years when Christ’s feet are again upon thisearth. In fact, the New Testament Church of Godbegan on one of these festivals—the Day of Pentecost(Acts 2:1–4).6Tomorrow’s World January-February 2014TomorrowsWorld.org
GOD’S MAST E R PLAN!So, although the early “Christian” leaders wereaccommodative to the pagans around them, Godwarned our spiritual forefathers against following thecustoms of the surrounding heathen nations, saying:“Do not inquire after their gods, saying ‘How didthese nations serve their gods? I also will do likewise.’You shall not worship the Lord your God in thatway; for every abomination to the Lord which Hehates they have done to their gods” (Deuteronomy12:30–31).Jesus Christ warned the religious leaders of Hisday, “All too well you reject the commandment ofGod, that you may keep your tradition” (Mark 7:9).Notice carefully Jesus’ comment about rejectingthe commandment of God by following humantradition. This is very definitely the case when weconsider which days God made holy. For virtually noone keeps the days introduced by the pagans and alsoobserves the biblical Holy Days that God commandsand which Christ and the Apostolic Churchobserved—days that, when kept and understood,reveal His “master plan” for humanity.In effect, you have to choose. Even in the middleof the Mediterranean Sea during stormy weather, theApostle Paul chose to observe the Day of Atonement(Acts 27:9). Many Protestant commentariesacknowledge that “the fast” commented on herehad to be the Day of Atonement—commanded byGod in the Old Testament. Yet Paul was not in somesynagogue but out in the ocean on a Roman prisonship with mainly Gentiles surrounding him. As allof us should do, he was following Christ’s example inkeeping holy the days that God made holy.In 1 Corinthians 11:23–26, Paul tells us how we areto keep the Passover service. Again, the “Passover” isone of God’s seven annual festivals commanded to bekept by His people forever.In John 7, we are told how Jesus Christ—setting usan example—went up “secretly”—as it were—to keepthe Feast of Tabernacles even though His life was indanger by so doing! Earlier, He had commanded Hisbrothers: “You go up to this Feast. I am not yet goingup to this Feast, for My time is not yet fully come”(John 7:8). Would Jesus have commanded His ownbrothers to do something contrary to God’s will?Of course not. For again, Christ was setting us anexample of what it means to be a genuine Christianand obey the way of God. So Jesus observed the Feastof Tabernacles just as we will see the entire worlddoing within a few years!Throughout the New Testament, we find that JesusChrist and His genuine followers were observing theseven annual festivals given by Almighty God. Seven,by the way, is used throughout the Bible as a numberof completion or perfection. As most of you know,God’s weekly Sabbath day falls on the seventh day,not just any day of the week or of man’s devising.Again, remember that Jesus Christ was sent intothis world as the “light” of the world to set us anexample. True Christians will follow that example.As the Apostle Paul instructed the Christians ofhis day, “Imitate me just as I also imitate Christ”(1 Corinthians 11:1). So each of us needs to exercisethe faith and the courage to follow the example ofJesus Christ and the original Church of God.
