Projects on AH1 The construction project of Myanmar-Thai Friendship Myawaddy Bridge-2 (21.4 km) is ongoing with the support of the Government of Thailand. The total project cost is the Grant Aid of 3900 million Baht of ThaiGovernment which includes the cost of construction of approachedroads and border control facilities(BCF)for Myanmar side (1000 millionBaht). Now, the bridge construction is being completed and the amount ofprocessed of the whole project is about (70%). The construction of border control facilities (BCF) will be started inApril,2017 and the whole project will be finished in end of 2018. Myawaddy-Thingannyinaung-Kawkareik section has been implementedwith the (1166) million Baht supported by Thai Government.

Status of Dry ports TAR network and AH Network. Eight potential dry port places has beenproposed to UNESCAP Myanmar signed on the IntergovernmentalAgreement on Dry Ports” in Nov, 2013. 8 potential key site are Mandalay, Tamu,Muse, Pyay, Mawlamyine, Bago, Monywa,and Yangon. It will contribute not only for the Nation’sTransport Sector but also for the ASEAN,GMS, BIMSTEC regional rail transportsector25
