Think about what wasimportant to this position, as wellas what could be relevant to afuture reader.WH Y D ID YO U DO I T ?Consider the end result, both forwhat was important to the actualposition, as well as how it could berelevant to a future reader.THIS EXAMPLE IS FROM GETTING EXPERIENCE RÉSUMÉ ON PAGE 10:Editing, communicating, writing, proofreading, analyzingRead articlesTo help the staff have accurateinformation and make sure articleswere clearly understandableYOUR TURN: THINK OF A CURRENT OR PAST EXPERIENCEWHAT DI D YOU DO?H OW D ID YO U D O IT ?WH Y D ID YO U DO I T ?ST EP 3 : BUIL D Y OU R BULLE T PO I N T STATEM E NTYou may need several drafts before getting to a four star bullet point statement. For your first effort, take youranswers from the chart above and put it into the two star box. Continue revising until it is four stars.Example: Read and edit articles to help the staff write good contentExample: Proofread articles and edit errors to ensure content is easily understood by the readerExample: Proofread articles and provide staff with edits ensuring accuracy and high standards in writing5
