Coastal students present papers at national conferenceEleven Coastal Carolina Universitystudents recently presented scholarlypapers at the National Conference onUndergraduate Research (NCUR) held atthe University of Utah in Sale Lake City.Students and faculty from more than200 colleges and universities in the UnitedScares participated in the conference, anannual event designed to enrich undergraduate teaching and learning by givingstudents firsthand experience in the processof scholarly exploration and discovery.Conference presenters are selected onthe basis of abstracts of their research submitted four months in advance of theconference.The following Coastal students gavepresentations: Dianna DeNitto, a senior psychologymajor of Marion, presented "Perceptionof Visual DerailExtroverts."in Introvertsand William GalbreathJr., a senior international studies major of Surfside Beach,presented"A MagneticLevitationMonorail as the Mode ofTransportation." Choral, flute and jazz featuredCoastal Carolina University's ConcertChoir will circumnavigate the musicalglobe for its spring concert, ''Around theWorld in 80 Minutes," set for Tuesday,April 22 at 7:30 p.m. in WheelwrightAuditorium. The event is free and open tothe public.The concert will offer "an international potpourri of choral delights,"according to director Anne DenbowGilbert, including music from SouthAmerica, New Zealand, Spain, Jamaica,Japan, Malaysia, Africa and Scotland aswell the United States.
