Alteryx functions start the count ofcharacters at zero. While you count the “D” as 1, Alteryx starts at 0. Knowing this, we realizethat “B” is really the 5th character. Therefore, the Answer is B.Question 2) A. While daunting, this question should have been answered very quickly if youare familiar with the four tools. The first observation that we make is that the resulting dataset has more rows than the initial data set. Looking through the tools, we see three that canonly generate new columns, but not new rows. The only tool here that could possible resultin a larger data set it the Generate Rows tool.Question 3) B. This question is worth 3x as much as the others, so you’ll want to spend moretime on questions like these. Additionally, since this is a ‘select all that apply’ question, wecannot simply move on once we find one correct answer, we must verify which options arefeasible. Choice A looks good, but we have no way to join the average calculation from thesummarize back to the original data set. Choice A won’t work. Choice B does work becausethe Append tool does not require and fields to put the average back on the original data set.Choice C shows an option where an average can be calculated, but it would be impossible tokeep the original field and calculate an average in a single tool.
