GENERAL INFORMATIONWARRANTYThe Revo 4000 has a 5-year limited warranty. Thestring clamps have a 2-year limited warranty. Thelimited warranty pertains to any parts deemed defectiveby the manufacturer.MAINTENANCE The string clamps will have to be cleaned on aregular basis. Take rubbing alcohol and clean inside thejaws of the stringing clamp. This procedure will removeoil and grit buildup. Use silicon spray to lubricate the rails that the swivelbases run on. This will allow the swivel bases to slidesmoothly. Always keep the machine covered and in a dry areawhen not in use.TECH SUPPORTFor any questions regarding the use of your stringingmachine, please call Alpha Racquet Sports. AlphaRacquet Sports does not provide stringing patterns. Toobtain patterns, contact the racquet’s manufacturer orjoin the United States Racquets Stringers Associationat (858) 481-3545.2ALPHA SPORTS 1-800-922-9024

MOUNTING THE FRAMEPlace clamp on the swivelbases.Loosen and remove thefine adjustment knobs, flip the head/throat framesupports so that they(supports) are each in anupward position. Replacethe fine adjustment knobs. To accommodate thelength of each racquet, adjust the mountingarm post by looseningthe mounting postadjustment knob. Once the correct adjustment isreached, tighten the mounting post adjustment knob.CAUTION: Make sure that both the mounting postand the adjustment knobs are tightened and secured. Not doing this will allow the mounting arms to creepforward during the stringing process and causedamage to the racquet. NOTE: Both mounting armsare identical, the racquet can be mounted either way.6ALPHA SPORTS 1-800-922-9024

MOUNTING THE FRAME CONT’D.Insert the frame supportsinto the appropriate slotslocated on the end ofthe mounting arms. Thetwo slots are designedto accommodate mostracquets.Make adjustments byturning the fine adjustmentknobs. The fit should besnug.Turn the mounting armadjustment knobs so thatthe angled frame supportthe fit up against theframe. The fit should besnug, but use caution.NOTE: Over-tighteningcan cause prematurestress on the frame.ALPHA SPORTS 1-800-922-90247

PREPARATION OF STRINGINGTo clamp the string, squeezethe toggle to close. To release thestring, pull thetoggle to open.To tighten, turn the dialclockwise. To loosen, turn thedial counter-clockwise. NOTE:Before stringing a racquet, thetension on the string clamp hasto be adjusted with the type ofstring gauge being used. If thestring is of a thin gauge (16L,17, or 18) then the string clampmay need to be tightened. If thestring gauge is thick (15, 15L, or16) then the string clamp mayneed to be loosened.8ALPHA SPORTS 1-800-922-9024

STRINGING THE FRAMETo set the tension, there are twoadjustments. Thefirst is to move themarker to the nearesthash mark of thedesired tension. Thehash marks on thescale are in threepound increments. The second adjustment is to finetune the tension with the hash marks located on theknob’s collar. The hash marks on the collar are in onepound increments. For example, to set the tension at62 pounds, turn the knob so that the marker matchesto 60 pound hash mark on the scale. The 0 hash markshould be lined up with the platform’s hash mark. Next, turn the collar two one-pound increments. The 2 poundhash mark should now be aligned with the platform’shash mark. Your tension setting is now 62 pounds.NOTE: When the machine is not in use, release thetension on the spring by setting back down to 9 pounds.ALPHA SPORTS 1-800-922-90249

STRINGING THE FRAME CONT’D.To determine whether the mains are at the top or theboom of the frame, count the number of holes in theopen throat area. For 4 to 8 holes, start at the top of theframe. For 2, 6, or 10 holes start at the throat. You mustalso determine whether the racquet requires a one-piecestringing or two piece string pattern. One-piece stringingmeans that you will use one continuous piece of stringfor the whole racquet. This is where 25% of the stringlength will be used to string the short side (one half ofthe main strings). The other 75% of the string will coverthe other half of the mains and all the crosses. DONOT cut the string for a one piece string job. Two-piecestringing means that you will use two pieces, usually thesame string set (unless it is a hybrib). The string mustbe cut to accommodate the appropriate length for themains (usually 20’). The rest of the string set will beused the crosses. The center of the frame supports (6 and 12 o’clockpositions) divide the racquet in half. Looking at theracquet form the butt end, the first hole on the left wouldbe considered the 1st left main and the first hole on theright would be the 1st right main. Thread the two ends ofthe main strings through the 1st left main and the 1st rightmain. Do this at the throat of the racquet.10ALPHA SPORTS 1-800-922-9024

STRINGING THE FRAME CONT’D.Clamp the 1st leftmain down at thethroat and lock theblue swivel base.Take the 1st rightmain and load thestring in the jawsof the gripper. After loading thestring, pull it at anangle to createresistance and toprevent the string from slipping. Grab the handle androtate the tension head away from the racquet. Keeprotating until the latch “pops” out and activates thebrake. This will keep the tension head in place andallow you to release the string clamp so that it can berepositioned.ALPHA SPORTS 1-800-922-902411

STRINGING THE FRAME CONT’D.Once the stringhas been clamped, release the stringfrom the tensionhead by holdingthe handle withthe left handand pushing thelocking lever backinto position with the right hand. CAUTION: Usecaution when pushing the lever back, placing thethumb high on the lever can cause the lever to“pinch” it. Rotate the tension head forward towardsthe racquet. When stringing themains, alternate bypulling one main oneach side. Neverpull two mains atone time.12ALPHA SPORTS 1-800-922-9024

STRINGING THE FRAME CONT’D.To start the crosses, make a starting knot ifyou are using a twopiece method. Weavethe cross string byrunning the string overand-under each mainstring. Be careful notto misweave. If you areusing a one-piece string job you do not need to usea starting knot. When pulling the crosses across themains make sure to slide the crosses up and downthe mains to disburse the friction in order to prevent“notching”.When the crosses arecompleted, tie off andtrim the excess string. To release the racquet, release the pressureon the mountingknobs by looseningthe adjustment knobscounter clockwise.ALPHA SPORTS 1-800-922-902413

CALIBRATING THE MACHINETurn the mounting table so that both mountingposts are perpendicular to the tension head.Lock the mounting table in place by pulling thelocking lever out.Clamp the fixed end ofthe tension calibrator.Load the string onthe other end of thecalibrator and pulltension. TIP: Makesure the clamp ispositioned far enoughfrom the tension headto allow a proper pull.Read the tensionon the calibrator todetermine if the tensionis correct.14ALPHA SPORTS 1-800-922-9024

CALIBRATING THE MACHINE CONT’D.Loosen the lockingscrew that is locatedon the side of the blackhousing block.Locate the tensionadjustment screwin front of the blackhousing block. Turnthe screw counterclockwise to makeit string tighter, orclockwise to makeit string looser.IMPORTANT: Release the tension on the calibratorbefore making the adjustments. Repeat the processuntil the correct tension is pulled. Lock the lockingscrew so that the adjustment screw is secure.ALPHA SPORTS 1-800-922-902415

CLAMP BASE ADJUSTMENTLocate the blackcap on the backsideof the blue base.Carefully pull it off.Turn the swivelbase so that theouter port is alignedwith the inner port.Take the 3mmallen key and insertinto the internaladjustment screw.Turn clockwise toincrease tension. The ideal locking position for thelever should be down the center of the swivel base.16ALPHA SPORTS 1-800-922-9024
