Exception: Handicapped handlers that have amobility problem in picking up the leash at the finish may put their leash in their pocket – the leash must be out of sight.Dogs must be under the handler’s control when leaving the ring or the judge may enter the run as No Time - NT.cTraining a dog in the ring during a runc There is no training in the ring at a CPE agility trial. First offense will result in an excusal from the run. Further offenses will result inadditional excusals for the day/weekend per the judge’s discretion. This is for the safety of the dog.c The following items are not considered training in the ring (also see FEO):c Dog grabbing it’s leash at the end of a run (if the run has not yet ended, the dog would receive an NT)c Asking the dog once for a sit or down on the table in the point games (asking more than once will be a delay of finish, 5 faults/points)c The following items are considered training in the ring:c Violating the 4 paw safety rule (directing the dog back onto the contact)c Start line stay – leaving the dog and going back again to reposition the dog after the handler passes the plane of the first obstacle (beforethe handler leaves the dog, repositioning or repeated commands can be a delay of start)Putting the dog back on the table in the point gamescWhile running on coursec The handler will direct the dog through the course without a collar or lead.c Food, toys, training devices (includes fanny packs and leash attachments) are not allowed within 10’ feet of the ring. Clickers, trainingwhistles and squeaky toys are not to be used within distraction distance of the ring.c The handler may not carry anything that could aid the dog in its performance. Exclusion: Handicapped/Differently Abled Handlers using acane, scooter, wheelchair, etc., to enable their progression around the course.The handler may use any verbal or visual commands to direct the dog through the course. The Judge may assess a 5 fault penalty toelimination for any command that is not given in a sportsmanlike manner. Faults can be, but are not limited to: foul or abusive language,display of anger, extreme frustration or excessive harshness. If the fault is severe enough, the Judge has the right to excuse the exhibitor fromthe ring and / or the remainder of the trial. If excused from the trial, a report would be filed with CPE. By entering this trial, exhibitors acknowledgethat they are familiar with the rules and regulations of this sport, and that their dogs arefamiliar with and able to perform all obstacles safely.cEntry fees will not be refunded in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, excused, orbarred from competition by action of the show committee.cIt is expressly understood that exhibitors alone are responsible for the behavior of their dog(s) and / orchildren. Any exhibitor whose dog(s) and / or children create unnecessary disturbances or repeatedlyengage in unsafe or disruptive behavior may, at the discretion of the show committee, be asked to leave theshow site. In that case, no refund of any fees paid will be made.cNo entry fee will be refunded if the trial cannot open or be completed by reason of riots, civil disturbances,fire, an act of God, public emergency, act of a public enemy, or any other cause beyond the control of theorganizing committee.cExhibitors are responsible for complete, accurate, and legible information on the entry forms: illegible orincomplete entries cannot be entered in the show.cAny corrections requested by an Exhibitor at the show to jump heights, levels, category or classes entered aresubject to a 5 correction fee. RULESFor the Standard, Handler Games, Strategy Games and Fun Games events,placements will be determined by the total number of Q’s earned across the 3 trials ineach of the classes in each event. Only clean, Q’s with no faults will count for Standard,Wildcard, Colors, and Jumpers. All jump heights, levels and divisions will be combinedfor placements.If there is a tie in the number of Q’s, placements will be determined as follows.Standard: Lowest total percentage of the standard course time. This is thepercentage of the standard course times the dog required to complete the course.It will be calculated and summed across all qualifying runs in Standard. The teamwith the lowest total will win the tie breaker.Handler Games: Lowest total percentage of standard course time.Strategy Games: Highest total points accumulated.Fun Games: Random draw.The above criteria will only be used to break ties in placement based on Q’s.For the Total Points events, placements will be based on a team’s total combinedpoints accumulated in Jackpot, Snooker and FullHouse across the 3 trials based onQualifying runs.
