There are severalvariables involved in a crashand determining causationis part of the analysis used todetermine whether a potentialmodification to traffic controlcould change or reduce thefrequency of the given type ofcrash,” explained Maura Lamoreaux, of the KCRC.The Post reached out to themthis week to get a copy of thereport. It shows that none ofthe many conditions neededto install a traffic signal weremet—including traffic volumeand crashes.“Crash warrants are not metfor signal installation in themost recent 12 month periodsince there were not five crashes susceptible to correction,”the report reads. “It should benoted that while the two mostrecent reported crashes had afatality, neither of the crashesSTUDY - continues on page 13A Perrinton man drownedlast week Thursday, trying tosave a woman who fell out oftheir boat.According to the MichiganState Police Post in Lakeview, the incident happened atCrystal Lake, in MontcalmCounty’s Crystal Township, about 2:34 p.m. Thursday,June 4.Police said that a 54-yearold woman had fallen from afishing boat and into the waterMonday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.Tuesday, Noon to 5 p.m.Wednesday, Noon to 5 p.m.Thursday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.Closed FridaysIn an effort to reduce person to person contact wehave several email addressesand can also accept paymentvia phone. Why does God allow the wicked to prosper? How cana good God use evil to accomplish hispurposes?I was reading in the book of Habakkuk, a short book with only 3 chapters. He was one of the minor prophets ofthe Old Testament. He struggled to understand how God works (you know,in mysterious ways), but in the end hebecame convinced that he could trustGod no matter how bleak or confusingthe present circumstances appeared tobe. We struggle with the same thingsstill today, almost three thousandyears later.Evil was on the rise—just as it appears to be in this hour! Corruptionwas rampant, unbelievable violence inthe streets every night somewhere andeven now there seems to be no justiceor protection even for the law-abidingcitizens.Non-Denominational340 West Pine Street P.O. No matter what itlooks like—God wins!Maybe some of you have been praying for years for your circumstancesor situation to change. Know this,God is working even when you don’tsee it. Wait for God’s answer. “For therevelation awaits an appointed time;it speaks of the end and will not provefalse. Though it linger, WAIT FOR IT;it will certainly come and will not delay” (Habakkuk 2:3 NIV, emphasismine).Lastly, never lose hope. God wins!God ultimately always wins. This is what God said inchapter 1:5: “Look at the nations andWATCH—and be utterly amazed. ForI am going to do something in yourdays that you would not believe, evenif you were told!” (NIV, emphasismine). You will need to read this short bookin the Bible to see how the events unfold, but you will discover that God isalways at work, even when we don’tsee it, He’s working. God is in controleven when it appears He is not. Goduses people and nations, often withouttheir knowledge, for His good purposes. At times the events seem evil, but the severity of God’s answer, likea surgeon’s scalpel, is working not tohurt but to heal.God does use evil to do good. TAX TIPSPage 5 IRS reminder: Deadline postponed to July 15 for those whopay estimated taxesWASHINGTON—The Internal RevenueService reminds taxpayers that estimatedtax payments for tax year 2020, originallydue April 15 and June 15, are now due July15. This means that any individual or corporation that has a quarterly estimated taxpayment due has until July 15 to make thatpayment without penalty. In response to the COVID-19 outbreak, the Treasury Department and the InternalRevenue Service are providing special taxfiling and payment relief to individuals andbusinesses. This relief applies to federalincome tax returns and tax payments (including tax on self-employment income)otherwise due April 15, 2020. This reliefdoes not apply to state tax payments ordeposits or payments of any other type offederal tax.Who needs to pay quarterly? Most often, self-employed people, including many involved in the sharing economy, need to pay quarterly installments ofestimated tax. Similarly, investors, retireesand others often need to make these payments. That’s because a substantial portionof their income is not subject to withholding. Other income generally not subject towithholding includes interest, dividends, capital gains, alimony and rental income.Special rules apply to some groups oftaxpayers, such as farmers, fishermen, casualty and disaster victims, those who recently became disabled, recent retirees andthose who receive income unevenly duringthe year.Taxpayers can avoid an underpaymentpenalty by owing less than 1,000 at taxtime or by paying most of their taxes duringthe year. Generally, for 2020 that meansmaking payments of at least 90% of the taxexpected on their 2020 return.Taxes are pay-as-you-goThis means taxpayers need to pay most oftheir taxes owed during the year as incomeis received. There are two ways to do that:* Withholding from pay, pension or certain government payments such as SocialSecurity; and/or* Making quarterly estimated tax payments during the year.Tax Withholding EstimatorIf a taxpayer receives salaries and wages, they can avoid having to pay estimated taxby asking their employer to withhold moretax from their earnings. To do this, theywould file a new Form W-4 [ https://www.irs.gov/forms-pubs/about-form-w-4 ].If a taxpayer receives a paycheck, thenew and improved Tax Withholding Estimator [ https://www.irs.gov/payments/tax-withholding ] can help them make surethey have the right amount of tax withheldfrom their pay. The tool is now more mobile friendly and replaces the WithholdingCalculator on IRS.gov. The Tax Withholding Estimator offers workers, as well as retirees, self-employed individuals and othertaxpayers a clear, step-by-step method foreffectively checking their withholding toprotect against having too little tax withheld and facing an unexpected tax bill orpenalty at tax time next year. How to pay estimated taxesForm 1040-ES [ https://www.irs.gov/forms-pubs/about-form-1040-es ], Estimated Tax for Individuals, includes instructions to help taxpayers figure theirestimated taxes. They can also visit IRS.gov/payments to pay electronically. IRSoffers two free electronic payment optionswhere taxpayers can schedule their estimated federal tax payments up to 30 daysin advance with Direct Pay [ https://www.irs.gov/payments/direct-pay ] or up to 365days in advance with the Electronic Federal Tax Payment System [ federal-tax-payment-system ] (EFTPS).IRS.gov assistance 24/7Tax help is available 24/7 on IRS.gov.The IRS website offers a variety of online tools to help taxpayers answer common tax questions. For example, taxpayerscan search the Interactive Tax Assistant [https://www.irs.gov/help/ita ], Tax Topics[ https://www.irs.gov/taxtopics ], Frequently Asked Questions [ https://www.irs.gov/faqs ], and Tax Trails [ nu ] to getanswers to common questions.More COVID-19 informationThe IRS will post frequently askedquestions on IRS.gov/coronavirus onomic-impact-payments ] andwill provide updates as soon as they areavailable.Like us onfacebookEvery Life Tells A Story.TheP STCheck out oure-edition @cedarspringspost.com/e-newspaper-2/The Cedar SpringsPOSTNewspaper6,454 people like this6,589 people follow thiswww.facebook.com/cedarspringspost

That’swhy The Cedar Springs Post is teaming up with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration in an attemptto reduce these deaths by reminding parents and caregiversabout the dangers of vehicular heatstroke and leaving children in hot cars. In 2019, there were 52 preventable deathsof children in vehicles, only one child less than in 2018.“As outside temperatures rise, the risk of children dying from vehicular heatstroke increases,” said Judy Reed,Editor at The Post. “One child dies from heatstroke nearlyevery 10 days in the United States from being left in a caror crawling into an unlocked vehicle. What is most tragicis that every single one of these deaths could have beenprevented.”The Post urges all parents and caregivers to do thesethree things: NEVER leave a child (or a pet) in a vehicle unattended. Make it a habit to look in the back seat EVERY timeyou exit the car. ALWAYS lock the car and put the keys out of reach. If you are a bystander and see a child in a hot vehicle:Make sure the child is okay and responsive. If not, call911 immediately. If the child appears to be okay, attempt to locate the parents or have the facility’s security or management page thecar owner over the PA system. If there is someone with you, one person should activelysearch for the parent while the other waits at the car.If the child is not responsive or appears to be in distress, attempt to get into the car to assist the child—even if thatmeans breaking a window—many states have “Good Samaritan” laws that protect people from lawsuits for gettinginvolved to help a person in an emergency.Know the warning signs of heatstroke, which include red, hot, and moist or dry skin; no sweating; a strong rapid pulseor a slow weak pulse; nausea; confusion; or acting strangely. If a child exhibits any of these signs after being in a hotvehicle, quickly spray the child with cool water or with a
