Stage 1: Launch the Installation Application for Mathcad Prime 3.0The DVD provided to you by Louisiana Tech contains both Mathcad Prime 3.0 and Mathcad 15. The instructions providedhere cover the installation of Mathcad Prime 3.0.1. Insert the DVD into your computer.2. You will need to examine the files on the DVD to begin installing the software. Browse the DVD contents by opening“File Explorer,” and then double click on “prime 3.0” as shown below. This will open the folder containing theMathcad Prime 3.0 installation files.3. Double click on “setup.exe” to launch the Mathcad Prime 3.0 installation application, then follow the instructions onthe following pages.

Run "Setup.exe" from disk or downloaded installer Install New Software Next2. Select "I accept the license agreement" and Check the box for agreement Next
3. Change installation directory (Optional) Check application to install (Optional) Select Customize Microsoft .NET Framework 4 will appear in list, if it is not installed on computer4. Customize is to set application features and Shortcuts (Optional) Ok
5. Select Install to start installation If Microsoft .NET Framework 4 was in list (Step 3), setup will install Microsoft .NET Framework 4 prior installing Mathcad Prime 3.0.a. Accept terms and conditions Installb. Select Finish to complete the installation Microsoft .NET Framework 4
c. After finishing the installation of Microsoft .NET Framework 4 setup will continue to install Mathcad Prime3.0. Note that the “progress” may remain on 1% for a while.6. Select Finish to complete the installation.Stage 3: Complete the Licensing Process1. Double click on the Mathcad icon on your desktop to launch the program.2. When the licensing screen comes up, click on “Activate purchased license”.3. If you have a PTC account, then log in. Otherwise, you need to create an account. If this is the case, click on “Iam new to PTC.COM and need to create an account.”4. When entering your personal information, you need to fill in all of the blanks to be able to proceed to the nextscreen. Don’t forget your login information in case you ever need to reinstall Mathcad!5. Enter your product code (don’t lose this since this is your license!).6. On the “Acquire License” screen, click on “PTC Mathcad Prime 3.0”.7. You should get a screen saying the installation is complete and that “PTC Mathcad Prime 3.0” has beenlicensed.8. Accept the license agreement (if you do agree!), and then click “Next”. Installation should now be complete.9. Make sure it works!
