That explains how the Shriner forthe Night at the Fargo Force game went.It was close to being a sold-out game and we gotto greet close to 3000 people that came throughthe door. We ran out of nearly 300 circus toyswithin about 15 minutes. The Jamestown Clowns were able to make somegreat sales on their impressive Harley that theywere raffling off.Detroit Lakes800.422.3317 nereson.comJerome Tappecell 218.234.6496jerome@nereson.comBrad Richardscell 218.234.6358brad@nereson.comEl Zagal Camel TalesPublished monthly forEl Zagal Temple,Shriners International1429 North 3rd StreetFargo, North Dakota 58102email: info@elzagal.orgwww.ElZagal.orgSeeing the smiles on the kid’s face that won thebikes was a reminder of why we do what we do.For me I got to listen to remarkable stories fromfamilies that were Shriner patients themselves ortheir kids that were Shriner patients. We had plenty of inquiries about membership. One person I’ll be meeting this week has hisGrandpa’s Harley Davidson that his Grandparode in the parades when he was a Shriner. Come and enjoy a goodlunch as well as a good time!!Respectfully submitted,Joanne Andres, Sec.Color Guard CrooningsSpring has sprung here in Color Guard land. You can tell, as most of the guys have lined upfor their yearly spray wash bath at 4 seasons carwash. Illustrious Thompson is kind enough to dothe spray down on all the guys. Feels good to getall that winter grime off ‘em.Grilling season has returned, and the guys areeager to get back to grilling for our monthlymeetings. It appears that someone took somecooking lessons over the winter, as RyanHendrickson made a meal for the virtual GrandLodge at the Shrine club a week ago, and served14 smoked turkeys with all the trimmings. Iunderstand there was some left over.Todd Knopf was recently seen at the PizzaPuzzles and Beer event at El Zagal. He haspromised the Potentate to shave his beard if theColor Guard can sign up 10 new Nobles this year.I have never seen Todd without a beard, but I amgonna take a shot at this! There was a recent trip to Las Vegas, where thequestion of marriage came up for Greg Neisen. Iunderstand that Sue wanted to “take the plunge”with Elvis doing the ceremony, and the detailsare still sketchy. I think there needs to be moreinvestigation into this matter. It would appearthat they are acting like they are married – youdecide!Jerome Tappe has recently given up the carbusiness and gone into the swimming pool repairbusiness. While wintering in Arizona, he becamebored and branched into pool repairs. It seems hehas had plenty of practice at working on his ownpool, and thought it would be a great fit. Ask himabout details – if you have an hour or so to spare. One of our own – little Robbie Richards is tyingthe knot this summer. We are so proud of howhe has grown up! Now that Rob no longer hasto wear rubber undies, Keli decided it was timeto marry. They plan an elaborate event completewith motorcycle gangs and a heavy metal band forthe dance. Father of the groom, Brad Richardshas promised an open bar for the entire week. Iam not sure he knows what he is getting into, orhow much little Robbie and crew like beer! The bike rodeo is still on track with pictures andframes at the ready. Working on a new plan canalways be difficult, but it is definitely worth atry! Our mission is a fine one, and bringing it tothe community can only help us and the kids. Ifyou know if someone who would sponsor a bike, please reach out to a fellow Shriner to supportthis cause.Soon all our snowbirds will be back, and we areexcited. I noticed the liquor truck was backed upto the building recently, and that can only meanthat Roger Forsgren is soon back in town. Wecan hardly wait!It is a great time to be a Shriner! Let’s supportIllustrious Sir Dennis “Fluff ” Sand and LadyTammy by bringing new members into ourgroup. With membership growth will come newfriendships and more activity! It will be fun to dosomething other than worry about Covid!!Our monthly meetings are the 3rd Monday ofthe month, and begin with a social at 5:30, dinnerand meeting to follow.
