COMMUNITY COLLEGE:These schools offer A.A./A.S. degree programs, certificateprograms, and/or general education requirements for transfer to a four year university. Entering studentsmust be high school graduates or have proof of passing a high school equivalency examination. Studentsplanning to enroll at a community college will be required to complete an application to the communitycollege, take a placement test (EAP, SAT, and/or AP test scores may replace placement test requirement),and meet with a counselor at the college campus early in the spring/summer of 2019. SAT/ACT tests arenot required to enroll at a California Community College. The community college counselor will helpyou select fall courses and talk to you about future college transfer plans/majors.Gov. Brown hasintroducedlegislation toget 1st year ofcommunitycollege free. UC and CSU Requirements for Freshman Admission:To establish eligibility for admission as a first-time freshman, students must1) Be a high school graduate;2) Have completed each of the courses in the A-G subject requirements; UC’s require a grade pointaverage (GPA) of 3.0 or better in these courses with no grade lower than a C. CSU’s require a Cor better in these courses. The CSU uses a calculation called an eligibility index that combinesyour high school grade point average with the score you earn on either the SAT or ACT tests.3) Have a qualifying score on the SAT or ACT.
