Next the lockring is pressed into the prebroached boss to secure the fitting assembly. The external lockringserrations prevent the fitting assembly from rotating in the boss andeliminate damage when applying torque to the B nut during installation(Illustration 4).LOCKWIREHOLETUBEIllustration 1. The serrated lockring prevents the fitting assemblyfrom rotation under vibration. The fitting assemblycan be easily removed from the boss for systemmaintenance or repair with simple tooling. Sta-Lok Fluid Fittings are lighter weight.The port side threaded end is smaller to allow thedesign of a smaller boss diameter.
