1586A Super-DAQPrecision Temperature ScannerThe most accurate and flexible temperaturedata acquisition system on the market

1586A Super-DAQPrecision Temperature ScannerThe 1586A Super-DAQ is the most accurate andflexible temperature data acquisition system onthe market. It scans and records temperature,dc voltage, dc current, and resistance for up to40 input channels and scan speeds as fast as10 channels per second. The Super-DAQ canbe configured for use as a multi-channel datalogger in the factory or as a precision referencethermometer for benchtop sensor calibration inthe lab.The 1586A is ideal for applications such as thermalmapping, temperature validation, process sensorcalibration, heat-treat furnace testing, processmonitoring, quality control testing, and more. These applications are found in various industriesincluding pharmaceutical, biotechnology, foodprocessing, aerospace, and automotive. There are six key features that set the Super-DAQ apart from other products in its class:21Best temperature measurement accuracy4Real-time graphing in color2Flexible configuration for the factory or benchtop5Data portability and security3Multiple modes of operation6Automated sensor calibrationFluke Calibration1586A Super-DAQ Precision Temperature Scanner

1Best temperature measurement accuracy2Flexible configuration for the factory or benchtopThe 1586A Super-DAQ reads PRTs, thermocouples, Accurately measure scalable transducers suchand thermistors with best-in-class accuracy:as temperature and pressure transmitters usingMx B gain and offset calculations for each PRTs 0.005 Cchannel(using the external DAQ-STAQ Multiplexer) Temperature sensor characterizations include Thermocouples: 0.5 CITS-90, CVD, Polynomial, PT385, and PT392(using the High-Capacity Module and internal CJC) Probe library stores up to 100 sensor profiles Thermistors: 0.002 Csimplifying setup Current reversal minimizes thermoelectric effects 6-1/2 digit display resolution for dc voltage, improving PRT/RTD measurement accuracydc current, and resistance Automatic internal reference junctioncompensation improves thermocouplemeasurement accuracyFor factory applications such as temperaturevalidation, the Super-DAQ is configured withthe internal High-Capacity Module. Connectingthermocouples or RTDs to input terminals can betime consuming—especially if you're using manysensors of the same type for one job, and thenswitching to a different sensor type for another job.The internal High-Capacity Module allows you topre-configure multiple input modules and simplyexchange one module for another depending onyour test requirements. Recall a stored test setup tomake the changeover even faster. And if you prefer, you can always measure a variety of different inputtypes at the same time in a single High-CapacityModule, including thermocouples, RTDs, voltage, resistance, or current. To simplify applications such as temperatureuniformity testing, the Align Channels featureallows you to automatically “zero” offsets betweensensors relative to a designated reference channel.1586-2586 High-Capacity ModuleUniversal input channels accepts 2-, 3-, or 4-wire connections tomeasure temperature, resistance, dc voltage, and dc current fordata acquisition applications on the factory floor where channelcount and scan speed are important. An Mx B offset is stored for each channel andan indicator let's you know that an offset has beenapplied. The Super-DAQ includes 20 math channels and15 different mathematical operations that can beapplied to measured results. Combining calculatedresults of multiple math channels lets you computecomplex operations such as F0 calculations. For a calibration lab where accuracy is of primaryimportance, the Super-DAQ is best configured witha DAQ-STAQ Multiplexer. The external DAQ-STAQfeatures mini-jack thermocouple terminals—eachwith its own reference junction sensor—andpatented mini-DWF, gold-plated input terminals, which accept bare wire, spade lug, or mini-bananaplug probe terminations. Easily connect anddisconnect PRTs, thermistors, and thermocouples forbenchtop temperature calibration. It can be stackedon the 1586A to reduce footprint in busy labs.Having the flexibility to configure the Super-DAQfor factory or lab use reduces your equipment needsand cost.1586-2588 DAQ-STAQ MultiplexerDesigned for high-accuracy measurements in secondary temperaturecalibration labs. Easily connect/disconnect thermocouples, PRTs, andthermistors.Fluke Calibration1586A Super-DAQ Precision Temperature Scanner3

3Multiple modes of operationThe Super-DAQ can operate in four modes that letyou scan, monitor, measure, or function as a digitalmultimeter from a single instrument.Sequentially scan through channels based on auser defined test. Depending on your application, select a fast, medium, or slow scan rate. With scanspeeds as fast as 10 channels per second, you cancollect data on all 40 channels in less than fourseconds. Easily capture time-stamped measurementsand correlate related events. Scans can be initiatedthrough six different trigger types to include: externaltrigger, time interval, remote SCPI command, alarmtrigger, manual trigger, and an automated test trigger.Monitor any single channel during a scan, withoutinterrupting the scan. Measure and record data on asingle channel without pre-configuring a test file.In DMM mode, use the front panel channel likea familiar benchtop digital multimeter to quicklymeasure dc voltage, dc current, or 2-wire and4-wire resistance.Function keys are backlit so that you always knowthe mode of operation and recording status.Scan, monitor, measure, and DMM function keys on the front panel.4 Real-time graphing in colorMost data acquisition systems only let you view dataon one channel. But now, the Super-DAQ lets youview real-time data for all channels in table formator chart up to four channels in color at the same time. You can quickly see the current process state at a-glance, or easily verify that your channels havebeen connected and configured properly. You can zoom in or out to see data of interest andmonitor trends. A history mode lets you scrollthrough collected data within a scan file—allwithout a PC and expensive software. Switchbetween chart view and table view to seemeasurement data and statistics, including average, standard deviation, minimum, maximum, peak-topeak, and rate of change. Not only does the Super-DAQ include a richgraphical display, but you can also select betweennine different languages including English, Chinese,French, German, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese,Spanish, or Russian. Each channel can be assigned two independentalarms which indicate when either an upper (HI)or lower (LO) range has been exceeded. If an alarmtrips, the out-of-range condition is indicated on thedisplay. Alarms can also be assigned to any of thesix TTL outputs for control of external devices. The 1586A Super-DAQ graphing real time data from four input channels.4Fluke Calibration1586A Super-DAQ Precision Temperature Scanner

5Data portability and securityThe Super-DAQ includes 20 MB of internal memorythat can store over 75,000 time-stamped readings.Data and setup files can be easily moved to a PC foranalysis using a USB flashdrive or over a networkusing the LAN interface connection. The Super-DAQ also includes two levels of datasecurity to prevent unauthorized users from tamperingwith or forging test data or setup files. This securityfeature is especially important to industries that areregulated by government agencies where datatraceability is required.Easily transfer Super-DAQ data and setup files using a USB flash drive.6Automated sensor calibrationWith the Automated Test feature, you can automatesensor calibration without a PC and software. When connected to a Fluke Calibration drywell orfluid bath via the RS-232 interface, the Super-DAQtakes control of the temperature source and runs yourcalibration automatically. You simply program thenumber of setpoint temperatures and their values, select a scan sequence (linear, alternate, up/down),assign a reference channel, and set the requiredstability band. The Super-DAQ monitors the temperaturesource's stability via the reference channel, collectsthe data once stabilized, and then advances to thenext setpoint temperature. After you configure andstart the test, you can walk away to work on otherthings. The Super-DAQ just made your day a wholelot easier!1586A configured with a DAQ-STAQ and 9190A Ultra-Cool Field Metrology Well for automated sensor calibration.Fluke Calibration1586A Super-DAQ Precision Temperature Scanner5
