Do not lift the Handle whilebrewing is in progress.15. This appliance is equipped with a PowerCord having a grounding wire with agrounding plug. The appliance mustbe grounded using a 3-hole properlygrounded outlet. In the event of anelectrical short circuit, groundingreduces the risk of electrical shock.16. If the outlet is a standard 2-prong walloutlet, it is your personal responsibilityand obligation to have it replaced with aproperly grounded 3-prong wall outlet.17. SECTION 1Set-Up & First BrewPlumbing Fitting ConnectionsIMPORTANT: You cannot use your Keurig breweruntil it has been set up for its first use.NOTE: If the brewer has been exposed to temperaturesbelow freezing, allow the brewer at least two hoursto reach room temperature before brewing. A frozenor extremely cold brewer will not operate.CAUTION: This brewer is designed to handle localwater pressures from 40 psig up to 125 psig.Consult a licensed plumber for water pressures inyour area. Use plumbing fittings and tubingspecified to withstand 125 psig.WARNING: Keurig requires the use of an externalwater filter such as the Omnipure KQ8A Water Filter,available from Keurig Inc. (# 5572). Failure to use afilter invalidates the brewer Warranty.fig.Screws ( 4 x )Filter Mounting BracketIN PORT9. Turn on water supply and allow at least 4 gallons of water to flush through3. Attach the Filter Mounting Bracket to the Omnipure KQ8A Water Filterusing the four screws provided (fig. 1). NOTE: The top of the OmnipureKQ8A Water Filter has two ports labeled IN PORT and OUT PORT. Make surethese ports are aligned with the Filter Mounting Bracket as shown in figure 1.1OUT PORTThreaded Straight AdapterStem Elbow Fittingthe filter. Turn off water supply.10. Cut the tubing to the proper length and connect a Stem ElbowFitting to the cut end of tubing. Thread the 3/4" Male Garden Hose (fig. 1)onto the Brewer Inlet Valve located at the lower-rear of the brewer. Pushthe Stem Elbow Fitting into it until secured firmly.4. Loosen the two mounting screws located on the upper-rear of the brewerand hang the Filter Kit Assembly (fig.2). Tighten the screws but be carefulnot to over tighten. NOTE: The Filter Kit Assembly comes with 1/4" FPT11. Your plumbing connections should resemble (fig. 2). Turn on water supply.ports for both inlet and outlet and the plumbed water inlet to the breweris 3/4" Male Garden Hose Thread (Invensys solenoid valve). 1/4" OD LLDPE(Linear Low Density Polyethylene) tubing is recommended (NSF compliant)between the Filter Kit Assembly and the brewer. NSF compliant fittingssuch as High Density Polypropylene Type are recommended.Setting Up Your Brewer1. Make sure all packing tape and protective plastic film from the LCDhave been removed. Your brewer should be connected to a watersupply (refer to page 6). Unwrap Power Cord and plug the brewer intoa grounded outlet.5. Connect a Stem Elbow Fitting to the IN PORT of the Filter Kit AssemblyShut-off ValveLLDPE TubingOmnipure KQ8AWater FilterLLDPE Tubing2. Turn the brewer on, the Power Switch is located at the bottom left handside of the brewer on the back. The brewer’s LCD Display will display thewelcome screen.6. You may wish to install a Shut-off Valve/4" Male GardenHose Connector31. Remove all pieces of packing tape from the brewer and Drip Tray.Remove the clear plastic film from the LCD Display. NOTE: An externalfilter (KQ8A, #5572) can be mounted on the rear surface of the brewer usingthe mounting screws provided.2. Attach a Threaded Straight Adapter (fig. 1) to each of the ports on theOmnipure KQ8A Water Filter and tighten using an 11/16" (18 mm) wrench.Make sure the connections are secure but do not over tighten.6by pushing the Stem Elbow Fitting into the previously attached adapter.Push firmly until the connection is secure. Secure LLDPE Tubing tothe Stem Elbow Fitting in the same fashion andfig. 2connect it to the local water supply.fig.between the water source and OmnipureKQ8A Water Filter as shown in figure 1. Todo this cut some LLDPE Tubing to size andconnect it by pushing the tubing into theShut-off Valve until secure.3WAS THE BREWER DRAINED?NOYES3. If the screen indicates "WAS THE BREWERDRAINED?" (fig. 3) you must press "YES."4. The screen will now display "CONNECT WATERAND THEN PRESS FLASHING BUTTON."5. Make sure a water supply is connected andturned on. Press the flashing button "CONT."The display will now read "PRIMING."7. Connect a long length of tubing to the OUTPORT of the Filter Kit Assembly. DO NOTCONNECT TO THE BREWER YET.8. The Omnipure KQ8A Water Filter needs aninitial flush to clear any carbon deposit. Bringthe long length of tubing to a container or sink.7

If the button is notilluminated, wait for heating to complete.

Open the K-Cup Pack Bindoor and locate the RED button at thetop of the bin area (fig. 12). Switch thebrewer on and within 4 seconds push theRED Button 4 times.4 secondsHOT WATER DISPENSESET VEND/NO VENDTo enable or disable the use of a coin unit pressthe "ADJUST" button. The options are "NO VEND"and "VEND AT SET PRICE." Once complete pressthe "NEXT" button.NOTE: Vending requires the addition of a CoinChanger. Please contact your Keurig AuthorizedDistributor for purchase information.SET VEND PRICEIf a coin unit is being used, press the "ADJUST" button to set the vend price.Adjust the price by pressing the or – button to get desired price.Adjustments are in 0.05 increments.SELECT BREW SIZEREADY - CHOSE K-CUP PACKLIFT HANDLESelect which cup sizes you want the brewer to dispense. Failure to do sowill not save any changes that have been made.ADJUST BREW TEMPThe brew temperature can be adjusted in one degree increments between187 – 192 F by pressing the "ADJUST" button.SET LANGUAGEINVERT DISPLAY COLORSThe first screen displayed will be where you change the default languageto either Spanish or French (fig. 13), if English is not going to be the primarylanguage displayed.If you are experiencing any problems with your brewer, please contactyour Keurig Authorized Distributor.Change the display to a LIGHT background with DARK letters by pressingthe "ADJUST" button.SET SERVICE PHONE NUMBERNOTE: If this screen does not appear, repeat the above procedure until it does.Simply press the flashing button under the language you wish to set as yourdefault. Once done, press the button under "NEXT."Enter your phone number here using the "ADJUST" and "NEXT" buttons. Youmust scroll through all ten digits.NUMBER OF BREWSSET MUG LIGHT OPTIONYou can disable the mug placement sensors by pressing the "ADJUST"button, however this is not recommended.Displays the number of brews the brewer has performed. This cannotbe reset.101411FrançaisHotWaterLanguage Setting For a Single BrewThe K3000SE brewer allows users to temporarilychange the language for a single brew. Simply pressthe corresponding button while the LCD Displayis in its idle state (fig.14) and all further brewinginstructions will be in the desired language. Thebrewer will return to the default language when thebrew cycle has been completed.

SECTION 3Cleaning & Maintenancefig.Cleaning External Partsthe K-Cup Pack Holder (fig. 15). Lift the entireK-Cup Pack Holder Assembly away from thepuncture mechanism. After cleaning, align theK-Cup Pack Holder with the opening using thetwo front ribs as a guide and snap them intoplace from the top.2. Cleaning the Funnel — The Funnel canberemoved from the K-Cup Pack Holder bypulling on it until it pops off (fig. 16). The Funnelis dishwasher safe. To replace it, just snap itback onto the K-Cup Pack Holder Assembly.3. Cleaning the Exit Needle — The Exit Needle islocated on the inside bottom of the K-Cup Pack Holder Assembly. Should a clog arise dueto coffee grinds, it can be cleaned using apaper clip or similar tool. Remove the K-Cup Pack Holder Assembly anddetach Funnel. Insert the paper clip (fig. 16) into the Exit Needle to loosen theclog, then flush with water. The K-Cup Pack Holder Assembly can be placedonto the top shelf of a dishwasher. NOTE: Use low temperature cycles infig.Regular cleaning of the brewer’s external components is recommended.The following section provides instruction for standard cleaning procedures.1. Never immerse the brewer in water or other liquids. The Housingand other external components may be cleaned with a damp, soapy,lint-free, non-abrasive cloth.and Drip Tray Plate should be periodically inspected and rinsed clean.To remove the Drip Tray Assembly, simply slide it toward you (fig. 18),keeping it level at all times to avoid spilling. The Drip Tray and Drip TrayPlate should not be placed in the dishwasher. They should be cleanedwith a damp, soapy, lint-free, non-abrasive cloth and rinsed thoroughly.1516Cleaning the K-Cup PackHolder Assembly1. Cleaning the Parts — The K-Cup Pack HolderAssembly can be placed onto the top shelf of adishwasher. NOTE: Use low temperature cyclesin the dishwasher. To remove the K-Cup PackHolder Assembly from the brewer, open thecover by lifting the Handle. Grasp the top of theK-Cup Pack Holder with one hand whilegrasping and squeezing the clips at the back ofthe dishwasher.CAUTION: There are sharp needles that puncture the K-Cup pack above theK-Cup Pack Holder and in the bottom of the K-Cup Pack Holder. To avoidrisk of injury, do not put your fingers in the K-Cup Pack Assembly Housing.12Descaling Your BrewerEmptying theK-Cup Pack BinDepending on the mineral content of your water, calcium deposits or scalemay build up in your brewer. Scale is non-toxic but if left unattended canhinder brewer performance. Regularly descaling your brewer every 3-6months helps maintain the heating element, and other internal parts thatcome in contact with water. Calcium deposits may build up faster, making itnecessary to descale more often.The used K-Cup packs areautomatically ejected into the internalK-Cup Pack Bin. When the K-Cup Pack Bin requires emptying the brewerLCD Screen will display "EMPTY K-CUPPACK BIN." !2. The Drip Tray can accumulate up to 10 ounces of overflow. The Drip Trayfig.17fig.18Before you begin, you will need a large ceramic mug, fresh water, descalesolution and access to a sink. Do not use a paper cup.To empty the K-Cup Pack Bin open thebrewer door by grasping the doorhandle and swinging the door fully opento remove the K-Cup Pack Bin fromdrawer (fig. 17). Dispose used K-Cup packs and replace he K-Cup Pack Bin.Properly follow the descaling procedure.fig.19Descaling ProcedureSTEP 1: PREPARE Make sure you have at least 80 oz.(approximately 6 bottles) of undilutedKeurig Descaling Solution on hand. Youwill also need an empty sink, a ceramic mug(do not use a paper cup) and a Flojet pump(#50-200358-000) or a similar device.Emptying the Drip TrayTo empty the Drip Tray grasp the DripTray by the side as shown and pull ittowards you. This disengages the DripTray, which can now be emptied andreturned back in place. Keep the DripTray level at all times to avoid spilling. Disconnect the brewer from the water supplyand power it off. Drain both the hot and coldwater tanks (fig. 20). When empty clip thedrain tubes back into place and replace theDrain Plugs.13

SECTION 3 Cleaning & Maintenancefig.20 Power up the brewer and follow the "PRIMING" procedure again,perform several (10) cleansing brews to remove any residualtaste from the the Keurig Descaling Solution.STEP 1: FILL AND CLEANNOTE: The cleaning action of the Keurig Descaling Solution may result in afoam dispensed from the brewer.
