!semagPartyDON’T FALLTO THE FLOORThis is a game which Pippi,Tommy and Annika play atPippi’s partyone out beforehand, and mayneed to tweak things accordingto the size of child each time. Whoever falls to the floorthe least number of timesis the winnerIt was very simple. All you hadto do was crawl round the wholekitchen without once setting foot onthe floor You started with the kitchen sinkand if you could stretch your legswide enough, it was possible tocome over to the open fireplace, and from there to the wood box, from the wood box over a shelf, andso down to the table and overchairs to the cupboard to the tailend of the horse! You probably don’t have a horse, and you probably won’t be popularif you leap round your kitchen andon to the table – so here’s anotherversion of this game! It works bestin the garden or a large room orhall. Clear the space as muchas possible Then put some ‘islands’ onthe floor, so that they followsome kind of natural course –or number them. You can usecushions, mats, duvets, airbeds;chairs and rows of chairs;steady boxes or chests The children have to go roundthe room without touching thefloor, by jumping from island toisland. You’ll need to test thisHere are some more gamesPippi and her friends would enjoyLONGSTOCKINGS! Put at least six times as manysocks as children in a basket Have the children sit in a circle Find some fun music or a songto play – when the music startsget the children try to put onas many socks as possible, oneover the other When the music stops, the onewith the most socks on wins

!semagPartyDRESSING UPMUSICAL STATUESPASS THE PARCEL ‘Never have I seen anyone who Fill a bin bag with as many oddclothes as you can find – hats, dresses, shorts, shirts, frillytops, scarves, socks – of all sizes Pass the bag round, just likepass the parcel. Whoever hasit when the music stops has topick something from the sackwithout looking and put it on. The winner is the one with thefunniest costume at the end.Take pictures of the wholegroup!PIN THE TAILON THE MONKEY Get a large piece of card anddraw a picture of Mr Nelson, with his blue trousers, yellowjacket, and straw hat – butwithout his tail! Make a separate tail Blindfold each child in turn andget them to try fix Mr Nelson’stail in the right place – usingblu-tack. The one who gets it right – ormost nearly right – is the winner.could dance the polka like you, mylittle honey bun!’This is what Pippi says to one ofthe robbers who have tried to stealher suitcase of gold pieces – atfirst she ties the men up but thenshe frees them and gets them todance the polka with her, whirlingabout till three in the morning.See if you can find some polkamusic for this game. The children dance around tothe music and when it stops theyhave to stand absolutely still, like a statue. If anyone movesthey are out. You can vary the game by givingthe children an adjective eachtime –e.g. sad, happy, small, tall– or an animal to represent.

Nov 20, 2015 · * Never throw your boomerang laid out flat like a frisbee. Boomerangs should always be thrown in a nearly verticle position to avoid dangerous diving and swooping flights. * If you are just learning to throw boomerangs do not throw too hard at first. For most boomerans a half powered throw is usu-ally enough to get the boomerang to return.
