The PilgrimagePlayers PackCompbattleAt the start of the tourney every army will receivea composition (comp) score. This will be theaverage of the scores given by a five-personpanel. The panel will be made up of individualswho have played Warhammer at a tournamentlevel for a considerable time. The panel will remainanonymous and no reasons will be given for anyscores. Newcomers are encouraged to discusstheir lists with their buddies to understand whatmight be considered too hard or over the top in atournament. As this is the first tourney to run under 8th editionWarhammer fantasy no tier system will be in place, instead comp adjustments which will not becapped (and may exceed the below chart) as wellas list rejections (at TOs discretion) will be in place. All armies start with a 4 point standard compositionand can be adjusted from 1 to -4 for a minimum 0score.Please also note that the TO will ask for any listsdeemed too extreme for the comp system tobe re-submitted. If there is a delay in re-submittinga list the penalties for late lists may apply. If youthink your list might be on the edge of a re-submit,you are advised to send it well before the cut-offdate of 30 July. The VP table on the following page will beused to determine the points received by eachplayer for each game. Conceding a game priorto the completion of the 6th turn will result ina 0 to 20 loss. The modifiers will represent a combination of thearmy strength and the build. As this is a new editionthat in the view of the panel brings the strengthof the army books much closer together, we willmark it in consultation with other panel members soas to bring as equitable and fair a mark as possible. Many of the panel members have had access to therules and been playing 8th edition prior to officialrelease and will do our best to have comp scoresthat represent the relative strengths of each army list7

The PilgrimagePlayers PackSportsmanship24 pointsAfter every game each player will be asked toprovide a score of 0, 2 or 4 for their opponentsbased on the following criteriaScoreDescription0Your opponent more than occasionally displayed behaviour you wouldclassify as border line cheating and was not what you expected to face at thetournament. Examples may include they employed a “rubber ruler”, applied differingrules interpretations to their sole advantage, stretched the rules when it suited etc. This score should be handed out carefully.2Your opponent’s behaviour clearly detracted from your ability to enjoy thegame. They refused to resolve rules disputes amicably or displayed an unsavouryattitude throughout the game –whether too much gloating when winning or toomuch bitterness when things didn’t go their way. PLEASE NOTE calling over a TO for arules dispute is regarded as an amicable outcome and should not be punished4Your opponent gave you a decent amicable game or better. Your opponentwas essentially in line with, or exceeded your expectations of another player’sbehaviour. Rules queries were decided amicably Nothing they did detracted fromyour ability to enjoy the game, other than maybe having beat you but you can hardlyhold that against them In addition after the last game of each day you willbe asked to nominate your best sport for the day. These votes will be used in determining the bestsports award. So from the 6 games a player could possiblyreceive 24 sports points (perfect score) which willcontribute to their tournament score.9

The PilgrimagePlayers PackAppearance18 pointsIt is the view of the Battle Pilgrims that appearncescores at tournaments exist to encourage everyoneto field a reasonably well painted army. With this inmind your painting score for the tournament will bedetermined by the Tournament Organisers, whileyou are playing games.A scorecard outlining your score and the criteria theTO believes have been met will be left on your tablefor your consideration . If you are dissatisfied withyour score please see the marking TO immediatelyafter that round to discuss.Newcomers (players who’s Pilgrimage is their 1stor 2nd Fantasy tournament) may field unpaintedarmies. Everyone else, as per the “General Rules”section earlier in this players pack, must feildpainted armies. Non-newcomers who field asingle unpainted model will get a zero (0) score forpainting.PointsCriteria3 pointsAll models painted with at least 3 colours2 pointsAll models based and flocked1 pointBases have 2 different materials (eg: static grass and rocks) OR made an aboveaverage effort on their bases (moulded cobble stones for example)2 pointsAll models inked/highlighted3 pointsArmy has consistent feel (similar colours, units have distinct variations but overalltheme the same etc)2 pointsSome models have been modified (minor conversions, green stuff ) – 1point. The PilgrimagePlayers PackDogs of WarUnofficial Update (July 2010)Notes About UpdateAs Games Workshop have discontinued the Dogsof War army(for the moment I hope), all other armybooks have had Dogs of War removed from theirpages. I feel that Dogs of War still have a place in theWarhammer army scene and would hate for them togo the way of the 40k Squats. However to keep withthe other army books I have taken out the optionfor Dogs of War and Regiments of Renown in otherarmies(excluding Rhinox Riders for obvious reasons). This isn’t to say you can’t just ignore those rules andtake them anyway in friendlies, but for tournaments itis best to try and keep the army on the same path asthe other army books and their FAQ’s.AMENDMENTSUnit StrengthIgnore all references to unit strength.Troop TypeNote that older versions of our army books do not listthe Troop Type for each model.
