Snuff Bottles from the Collectionof Mr. Albert Chan Yue HongIn the 1970s and 1980s, in conjunction with my jewelrymanufacturing business interests, I began to dabble in the workof making spoons and stoppers for snuff bottles. During that time,my attention became deeply attracted to them, and afterwards thebottles became my only love. Within the next decade or so I becameobsessed with collecting them, never too busy during businesstravel to visit antique stores and auction houses around the worldgathering up the ones I loved. My extreme obsession for this artworkmade from seemingly every substance, style, and artistic techniquepossible was inexhaustible. I am grateful for Bonhams’ help inallowing this group of collectibles to be appreciated and loved byfellow collectors, and for this I humbly extend my deepest 在此謹致予最大的謝意。1A JADEITE ‘LYCHEE’ SNUFF BOTTLELate 19th/20th centuryCarved as a cluster of lychee growing from leafy branches with adescending bird on one side; the matrix of white, russet, and applegreen coloration.2in (5.1cm) high 2,000 - 3,000十九世紀末/二十世紀 翡翠雕荔枝式鼻煙壺ProvenanceJade House, Hong Kong, 7 July 19972A CARVED WHITE JADE ‘LOTUS POD’ SNUFF BOTTLE1850-1930Possibly converted from a jade handling piece, carved as two largelotus pods wrapped by realistically rendered lotus leaves and reedstalks with a bird perched on the larger pod, the soft-hued whitestone with russet and opaque cloudy inclusions, and stained fissures.2 1/2in (6.4cm) high 2,500 - 4,0001850-1930年 白玉雕蓮蓬荷葉式鼻煙壺ProvenanceJade House, Hong Kong, 7 July 199716 BONHAMS
