The Glenn Miller OrchestraThe World Famous Glenn Miller Orchestra is the most popular andsought-after big band in the world today for both concert and swingdance engagements. With its unique jazz sound, the Glenn MillerOrchestra is considered to be one of the greatest bands of all time.The present Glenn Miller Orchestrawas formed in 1956 and has beentouring consistently since, playingan average of 300 live datesa year all around the world.Trombonist Larry O’Brien, themusical director since 1988,has previously performed withthe orchestras of SammyKaye, Buddy Morrow, RayEberle, Lee Castle and manymore. He was the featuredsoloist and lead trombonistwith the Sam DonahueTommy Dorsey Orchestra. Hisleadership has brought the Glenn MillerOrchestra that swing feeling adored by Glenn Millermusic followers everywhere.The Robert Redd TrioThe Robert Redd trio includes three of the best musicians in theWashington area: Robert Redd on piano, Tommy Cecil on bass, and JohnJensen on trombone. Robert Redd appears frequently at Blues Alley withlocal and national artists and performs with many groups, including theSmithsonian Masterworks Ensemble. Jazz bassist and composer TommyCecil has headlined at Wolf Trap, Blues Alley, One Step Down and TheSmithsonian. John Jensen, a former lead trombonist and featured soloistwith the United States Navy Band Commodores, has performed at theWhite House, the Corcoran Art Gallery, the Kennedy Center, and BluesAlley.
