Sunny Sue’sSunbonnet Sue Quilt Club of the Olympic PeninsulaAugust 2016To further the act and skill of quilt making and to foster an appreciation of quilts old and new.For the past several years theSunbonnet Sue Quilt Club website hasbeen hosted by a company calledWebsites for Quilters. A year ago theyannounced that they had been purchased by Like Sew. This new companyoffered to convert our website to their services but the cost was morethan the club could bear and their monthly hosting fees were considerablyhigher than what we had been paying. They were willing to keep ourwebsite on their servers until our contract ran out. Of course, I didn’trush to find a new webhosting company; after all our contract didn’texpire until August 2016!! The months flew by and suddenly I was under adeadline!! I found that there were a lot of webhosting companies outthere!! After reading reviews and doing research I settled on Weebly, awebhosting company based in San Francisco. Since it wasn’t possible toconvert our old website to Weebly it was necessary for me to build a newone! This week our newly designed website was officially launched. Our new website has much of the same information as the old one butupdated and reformatted. You’ll find more photos and even a slideshow ofthe Quilt Show winners. It’s much easier to edit and update than our old

New Website – continued .site. And best of all it will cost the club less than half of what we werepaying.I hope you’ll take a look around the new site. It’s located at the sameaddress (sunbonnetsuequiltclub.org). The password to the members onlysection hasn’t changed it’s still SBSQC. Hopefully, you’ll find the siteeasy to use, clean and informative. Please let me know what you think. It’sstill a work in progress so if you have suggestions on how to make itbetter please let me know.Merrie Jo SchroederIMPORTANT DATESWebmasterIn August the business meeting willcontinue to be held at 10:00 am onthe 2nd Wednesday.Board meetings will be the firstWednesday from 9:00 to 9:30 am.That way all members will be able tosew or attend any classes held thatday.August 39:00 Board Meeting10:00 AnnouncementsBaguettesAugust 1010:00 Business Meeting1:00 Art Quilt Sues(Karen’s Quilt Shop)August 17Congratulations to every memberwho had a part in the very amazing, very successful 2016 Pathway ThruThe Stars Quilt Show!
