Nonprofitsare excited to be a part of thiscommunity-wide day of giving,especially after a time of greatneed and readiness to bringtogether our community of citizens.Brazos Valley Gives is 18hours of online giving thatbrings the region together onone day and as one community to raise critical fundingand awareness for nonprofitorganizations throughout theBrazos Valley. Powered bythe Community Foundation,Brazos Valley Gives providescitizens and businesses aneasy platform to support themission and “good works” oflocal nonprofit organizationsthat serve the Brazos Valley.Nonprofits from throughoutthe 7-county Brazos Valley re-gion are invited to participate.Brazos Valley Gives empowersindividual donors and business leaders to come togetherto support causes close to theirhearts.This day of giving where youlive is powered by the Community Foundation, and all donations pass-thru directly to thedonor’s charity(ies) of choice.The goal for Brazos ValleyGives is 750,000.During last year’s BrazosValley Gives, 136 nonprofitsparticipated with 100% of thenonprofits receiving a financial benefit from the 801,462that was raised. Also, eachparticipating nonprofit waseligible for 30,000 in prizesand 68,500 of surprise grantsfrom an anonymous donorthat were awarded during apost-celebration event. Of the3,688 donations, many individ-uals made donations to multiple organizations. The averagedonation in 2020 was 172.01,and 1,550 individuals werefirst-time donors to a nonprofit. More than 300 individualspledged over 12,300 hours ofvolunteer support to their favorite charities.Nonprofit organizations areinvited to register to participate in Brazos Valley Gives.Registration opens Monday,August 2. The deadline for nonprofit registration is Friday,September 10. Nonprofits paya 150 registration fee; nonprofits that have a charitableendowment fund at the Community Foundation are eligible for a discounted fee of 50.This registration fee is usedfor administrative-related giving day expenses to includethe marketing/promotion ofthe event regionally.
