Group scan mode covers all 300 memory channels in groups of 10, and programmable band scan will search a frequency spreadbetween two VFO settings (the scan-hold function stopsthe scanning for 5 seconds). A new feature is programmable slow scan, which will automatically slow down tocheck a frequency range you’re interested in. As well asvarying scan speed, you can choose either time-operated(TO) or carrier-operated (CO) busy-stop-resume.Auto power-off

Compact convenienceExpanded Power and PerformanceDX Cluster (Packet Cluster) TuneThe simple 2-chip TNC is compliant with the AX.25 protocolfor DX cluster tune. DX cluster information received on thesub band is not just displayed on the LCD: it can also beused for instantly setting upthe main band frequency tocluster information. Upto 10 items can be storedin memory.Dual-Channel WatchProvision of main and subbands enables dual-channelwatch. This all-mode multibander can simultaneouslyreceive two frequencies, even on the same band, allowing such combinations asHF V/UHF, VHF VHF, UHF UHF and VHF UHF (the subband is used exclusively for 144/430MHz reception onFM/AM). This means, for instance, that you can pick uplocal information on V/UHF while operating HF on themain band.Satellite CommunicationsSatellite operations are enhanced with the IF-DSP, 10 dedicated memory channels, Doppler effect frequency adjustment (manual) and the ability to choose either normal orreverse shift for the trace.High-duty Transmitter SectionThis transceiver is the perfectchoice for contesting, mobilingand FSK applications, deliveringup to 100 (AM: 25) watts onHF/50/144MHz bands. Output is50 (AM: 12.5) watts on the430MHz band, and 10 (AM:2.5) watts on 1200MHz.*But there’s more than justpower: the built-in TCXOensures excellent frequencystability — 0.5ppm (exceptin FM mode).*Minimum output is 5 watts forHF/50/144/430MHz bands, 1 wattfor 1200MHz .CW FeaturesIn addition to the new Auto Tune function, there is a fullrange of CW features. The full/semi break-in switchingand delay time settings are fully adjustable. In semibreak-in the delay time between key release and activereceive mode can be set for between 50ms and 1000ms.When using VOX operation the delay time can be set forbetween 150ms and 3000ms. Other CW features includepitch control (400-1000Hz), side tone monitor with 10step volume setting, DSP-based rise time adjustment, andCW reverse mode.FSK FeaturesWhen operating in FSK mode, you can select shift frequencies (170, 200, 425 and 850Hz) and switch both KEYpolarity and Hi/Low tones to suit your RTTY device.Additionally, the FSK reverse function lets you matchtransmission methods to the other party if necessary, forexample changing the BFO frequency from LSB (normal)to USB (reverse).

All-Mode, Multiband, Engineered for ExcellenceKenwood’s new TS-2000/B2000 all-mode multibander may be compact, but it’s equipped with all the features you would expect to findin a top-of-the-line rig.IF Digital Signal ProcessingThe TS-2000/B2000 is serious about digital signalprocessing. Kenwood’s advanced digital technologyconverts analogue waveforms into digital data in realtime, enabling such digital processing as IF filtering, slope tune, auto notch and AGC. IF-stage DSP on mainband transmit and receive — including V/UHF bands —allows the greatest range of control and unprecedented performance.DSP DetectionIF-stage DSP means thatthe TS-2000/B2000offers significantly lowerdistortion and higherquality detection in allmodes. (FM: digital AFfilter)Digital FilteringThere is absolutely noneed to purchase optional filters: digital IF filtersare available for eachmode (FM: digital AF filter), offering performance superior to anything possible with analogue circuitry. Whenoperating in SSB/FM/AMmodes, this digital filtering enables both highand low-cut frequencyvariance. Employingslope tune, you canthus cut out noise withminimal effect on soundquality. In AM mode, the high-cut frequencycan reduce interferenceby controlling the IFpass bandwidth — useful for receiving shortwave broadcasts. In CWmode, the WIDTH function is supplemented bycentre frequency shift, allowing adjacent signalinterference to be tunedout. This WIDTH function also provides noisereduction capabilities in FSK with 4 steps available: 250,500, 1000 and 1500Hz. And thanks to AF-stage DSP,independent control of high-cut and low-cut frequencies(12 steps each) provides slope tune capability in FM aswell.IF Auto NotchSince it is working witha digital signal, IF AutoNotch (main band, SSBmode) can provideextremely sharp filtering of carrier frequencies from broadcast and continuous beat sources. Theinterfering beat is removed far more accurately than inconventional analogue systems, and Auto Notch will eventrack changes in the beat signal (tracking speed can bevaried in 5 steps).IF AGCThe digital AGC circuit (main band only) delivers very fastrelease characteristics, surpassing even the best analoguedesigns. You can select a custom release time (20 steps)for each mode, except FM.

Advanced designAF Digital Signal ProcessingDSP is also executed at the AF stage, offering Beat Cancel and CW Auto Tunefunctions. It also enables you to achieveremarkable noise reduction and apply customenhancements to your transmitted voice.Beat CancelAutomatic Beat Cancel, available for the main band(SSB and AM modes), immediately eliminates multiplebeats interfering with adesired signal. It works wellin combination with IFAuto-Notch (SSB).HF Band50MHz BandManual Beat CancelA new Manual Beat Cancelfunction, which operates asa manual AF notch, can beused in all modes — thoughit is particularly effective inCW.CW Auto TuneYou no longer have to adjust the VFO while operating onCW — CW Auto Tune does it for you automatically byadjusting the VFO to your preset pitch at the touch of abutton.144MHz Band430MHz Band1200MHzNoise ReductionThere are 2 types of noise Line Enhancer Methodreduction: LEM (NR1) andSPAC (NR2). LEM (LineEnhancer Method) — available for all modes on themain band and FM/AM on SPAC Methodthe sub band — automatically forms a filter shapearound the target signal fora custom, dynamic noisereduction capability. Thedegree of enhancement canalso be set manually formain-band use. The SPAC (Speech Processing/AutoCorrelation) function utilizes a special statistical/correlation algorithm to pull out weak signals that are burieddeep in noise. Although available for all modes on themain band, it’s especially useful for tough CW conditions. The correlation time setting can be adjusted in 10 stepsbetween 2ms and 20ms.TX Audio ShapingYou have 3 ways to tailor audio quality with DSP: theTX/RX equalizer (SSB/FM/AM), TX filter bandwidth(SSB/AM), and speech processor (SSB/FM/AM). TheTX/RX equalizer offers 4 frequency response settings onSSB, FM and AM: high boost for improved clarity, formantpass to minimize extraneous sounds, bass boost forstronger sound, and conventional mode for an ‘analogue’sound. On SSB and AM transmit you can choose between6 TX filter bandwidth settings according to your microphone and operating requirements. The speech processorworks across three bands (SSB, FM and AM) for highcompression and minimal distortion.
