EngineeredBeams & TimbersOur kiln-dried engineered beams andtimbers offer a distinctly refined solid woodproduct for your Hybrid Home. Theseengineered beams and timbers are createdby taking individual 2” thick boards andlaminating them together in our radiofrequency press. The process of laminatingresults in a premium grade, structurallystable, virtually check free engineeredcant -- a superior kiln-dried product withan average moisture content of 9% whichis then milled into beams and timbers.Our craftsman will then precision cut thismaterial to the required design specificationsof your Hybrid Home.The benefits include: Engineered timbers are superior in strength dueto the alternating grain of the individual plies. Engineered timbers are structurally more stable,and checking - or surface cracking - is virtuallyeliminated. Because it begins with thinner pieces of kilndried wood, we are able to better regulatemoisture and achieve levels that average 9%moisture content. Only the highest grade plies are used, andcareful consideration is taken when determininghow each ply will be laminated. This providesaesthetically pleasing interior and exteriorsurfaces while improving material utilization.This makes them an environmentally friendlyand renewable building product. More timber sizes and options are availablewithin the frame design to not only address thestructural requirements but also enhance theinterior aesthetics.4
