Exalted Ruler Message — Brian PetersonHello Fellow Elks Members,I want to thank all of the volunteersfor setting up and conducting the 14thannual Elks Charity Golf Scramblethat was held on Friday, May 31st.This is another great fund raiser forthe Elks to continue giving back tothe communities of Bismarck andMandan with our charitable giving.The weather held for the annualRoughrider Car show and was nicelyattended. Again, thank you volunteersfor helping with the grill and servingthe food to the guests. There will beanother car show at the Elks, Saturday,June 8th on the south parking lot. Thisis the Missouri Valley Volkswagenshow and volunteers are needed tohelp here again as well. If you wouldlike to be part of this, please call theoffice and give them your name andcontact information.The patio is back and open onWednesday nights with music, foodand beverages. If you haven’t beenthere before, I encourage you to stopby and experience the evening. I don’tthink you will be disappointed.There is a lot going on at the Elkseach month with June having meetand greet evenings with the Bucks andLarks. A Bloody Mary Mixer on June2nd starting at 11am. The McQuadeSoftball Tournament is June 28thto 30th and this event needs manyvolunteers to make it run smoothly.Come and help out, we would love tohave you pitch in. Members are welcome to attendand see what is happening on the statelevel. A postcardwill be mailed out to the memberswho have a birthday in each monthof the year. We are starting in June,so all members who have a birthdayin June will receive a postcard. Choral ConnectionYour Elks Chorussang at churchesin Bismarck onApril 28th – St.Mary’s Catholic,First Lutheran Church,Cornerstone Community Church andGood Shepherd Lutheran Church plusa bonus appearance at the KiwanisPancake Breakfast at the MunicipalCountry Club.On May 2nd we sang in Mandan– First Lutheran Church, Heart RiverLutheran Church, First PresbyterianChurch and Mandan United MethodistChurch.On May 11th we had the pleasure ofsinging in Jamestown in the Reiland FineArts Center at Jamestown University.We were one of five choruses in theNorth Dakota Men’s Choral Festival.There was a combined all chorussinging of three songs to start off theevening. We then sang two numbers,as did every chorus. We sang Let ThereBe Music and Goodnight, Sweetheart,Goodnight, on which Mike Krumwiedesang the solos. The evening concludedwith the combined chorus singing threemore songs. It was really wonderful tosing in a strong and powerful chorus ofgreat singers.June 2019We are about to take the summer offwith only a few appearances. We willsing the national anthem at the LarksGame on June 4th and we will sing atthe Capital A’Fair of August 3rd. Youwon’t want to miss our concert in theMandan Bandshell on July 23rd.
