31313SAFETY PRECAUTIONSPERSONAL SAFETYImproper installation and operation could causepersonal injury and/or equipment and property damage.Read and understand labels and the Owner's Manualbefore installing, operating, or making adjustments. Remove the ignition key and put the vehicle inPARK or in gear to prevent others from startingthe vehicle during installation or service. Wear only snug-fitting clothing while working onyour vehicle or snowplow.WARNING Do not wear jewelry or a necktie, and secure longhair.Lower the blade when vehicle is parked.Temperature changes could changehydraulic pressure, causing the blade todrop unexpectedly or damaging hydrauliccomponents. Failure to do this could result inserious personal injury. Wear safety goggles to protect your eyes frombattery acid, gasoline, dirt, and dust. Avoid touching hot surfaces such as the engine,radiator, hoses, and exhaust pipes. Always have a fire extinguisher rated BC handy,for flammable liquids and electrical fires.WARNINGThe driver shall keep bystanders clear of theblade when it is being raised, lowered, or angled.Do not stand between the vehicle and the bladeor within 8 feet of a moving blade. A moving orfalling blade could cause personal injury.FIRE AND EXPLOSIONWARNINGGasoline is highly flammable and gasolinevapor is explosive. Never smoke whileworking on vehicle. Keep all open flamesaway from gasoline tank and lines. Wipe upany spilled gasoline immediately.WARNINGKeep hands and feet clear of the blade andA-frame when mounting or removing thesnowplow. Moving or falling assemblies couldcause personal injury.Be careful when using gasoline. Do not use gasolineto clean parts. Store only in approved containers awayfrom sources of heat or flame.WARNINGCELL PHONESDo not exceed GVWR or GAWR including theblade and ballast. The rating label is found onthe driver-side vehicle door cornerpost.A driver's first responsibility is the safe operation ofthe vehicle. The most important thing you can doto prevent a crash is to avoid distractions and payattention to the road. Wait until it is safe to operateMobile Communication Equipment such as cell phones,text messaging devices, pagers, or two-way radios.WARNINGTo prevent accidental movement of the blade,always turn the control OFF whenever thesnowplow is not in use. The power indicatorlight will turn OFF.VENTILATIONWARNINGWARNINGRemove blade assembly before placingvehicle on hoist.Vehicle exhaust contains lethal fumes.Breathing these fumes, even in lowconcentrations, can cause death. 31313NOISEINSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONSAirborne noise emission during use is below 70 dB(A)for the snowplow operator.NOTE: For easier assembly and installation, thevehicle and all snowplow components shouldbe on a smooth, level, hard surface, such asconcrete.VIBRATIONOperating snowplow vibration does not exceed2.5 m/s2 to the hand-arm or 0.5 m/s2 to the wholebody.1.Remove the bumper fascia from the front ofthe vehicle. Retain the fascia and fasteners forreinstallation if the snowplow mount is removed.TORQUE CHARTCAUTIONRead instructions before assembling.Fasteners should be finger tight untilinstructed to tighten according to the torquechart. Use standard methods and practiceswhen attaching snowplow, including properpersonal protective safety equipment.2. Remove the tow hook(s), if equipped, from theunderside of the vehicle frame rails. Retain thetow hook(s) and fasteners for reinstallation if thesnowplow mount is removed.3. Align the two holes in the top of thepassenger-side mount plate with the tow hookholes in the underside of the vehicle framerail. 313134. Repeat Step 3 on the driver's side of the vehicle.9. Bend the two cap screws with handles as shownbelow.5. Align the four holes in each side of the pushbeamwith the holes in the mount plates. Attach thepushbeam to the mount plates using eight1/2" x 1-1/4" cap screws (four on each end). Placea 1/2" locknut on each cap screw, and fully tightenaccording to the torque chart.6. Fully tighten the fasteners securing the mountplates to the frame rails according to the torquechart.7.Measure the distance between the pushbeamrear hole and the ground. If it exceeds 11-1/2",install the accessory Height Adapter PlateKit (PN 77555) to ensure optimum plowingperformance.10. Insert a 1/2" x 1-1/4" cap screw with handleinto the large hole in the passenger's side ofthe vehicle frame rail, pass it out through thepreviously drilled 17/32" hole in the frame rail, andthrough the mount plate. Attach a 1/2" locknut andfully tighten according to the torque chart. Repeaton the driver's side.CAUTIONUse caution not to pinch, cut, or drill throughany wires or hoses running along the framerails.8. Using the remaining hole in the passenger-sidemount plate as a guide, drill a 17/32" hole intothe side of the vehicle frame rail. Repeat on thedriver's side.11. Bend the ends of the cap screws with handlesagainst the frame rail.NOTE: After five to ten hours of snowplow usage,retorque all mount assembly fasteners.Drill 17/32"hole.Lit.
