Once a Vice President of Marketing for a largefast food chain, she never thought she would retire tothen become an independent travel advisor, but she isso glad she made that decision.Chrisitine credits the education InteleTravel providesas a contributing factor in her success. “The educationoffered by InteleTravel.com is unending. If you arewilling to invest the time in yourself, the information isabsolutely unending and FREE!! There are also manyFREE travel courses offered by InteleTravel’s suppliers.I joined Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA),at a very nominal cost, and earned my way to becomea Master Cruise Counselor. I have truly benefited fromevery CLIA course, especially the course on Groups.”She adds, “I especially enjoy the live training and bootcamp activities. InteleTravel frequently arranges trainingevents with our Preferred Partners, who are outstandingsuppliers and the best experts in the travel business. These travel professionals not only share productinformation but also many selling strategies.”“I love the freedom to arrange my ownschedule. How do I know what my commission is goingto be?Commissions from suppliers are typically between 10% and 16%. Once you become an InteleTraveladvisor, your commission from the travel you book will be 70% to 80% of those supplier commissions. For example, you book a trip for a client and it costs that client 3,000. Let’s say the commission fromthe suppliers will be 16%. That amounts to 480. Further, for this particular trip, your commission is70%. This means you will be paid 336 for booking that one trip. 3,000 x 0.16 480 480 x 0.70 336Can you give me an example of the kind ofexclusive offers customers receive?InteleTravel advisors are privy to special discounts and upgrades through their relationship withInteleTravel, and thus, their relationship with major travel suppliers and brands. One example of how you can save your clients money ontravel is getting upgraded at a tropical resort from a roomwithout a view to a room with an ocean view—free of charge. An upgrade like this is something travelers have to pay extrafor, but your client would not have to pay any additionalmoney because they booked it through you.Another example that would appeal to your clients is payinghalf the price for a guest on a cruise. Cruise lines, such asRoyal Caribbean, offer deals similar to this. If you were anadvisor, you would be able to tell your clients about thistype of discount in which one person is able to cruise forhalf off. So, let’s say you are helping a couple book a cruise and it costs 200 per person. Thanks toInteleTravel, instead of spending 400, that couple would only spend 300 for the both of them. 200 200 400 200 ( 200 x 0.50) 200 100 300Savings: 100InteleTravel: The Original At-Home Travel Agency 1-800-873-5353 www.inteletravel.com7

Why would anyone want to buy travel from me?No one is going to let someone else plan a vacation or businesstrip if he or she is not confident in that person, so your family andfriends would probably appreciate knowing someone who canbook travel for them. They are going to choose you over anothertravel advisor as a result. Plus, even though many people try to booktravel on their own, being related to or friends with an independenttravel advisor could motivate them to ask for help, especially sinceyou will have all the tools to arrange an amazing trip for a great price. When it comes to finding other clients, it may be difficult in thebeginning, but the key is referrals. In other words, if you start offbooking travel for a friend, that friend most likely knows someonewho is also planning a trip. Before you know it, you will have anumber of clients and they can refer you to other people. ChristineCiletti also stresses attitude as a contributing component in sellingtravel. “I get excited about an experience I enjoy. I’ve been told thatmy enthusiasm becomes contagious and that sells the product.”“The best part about being atravel professional is beingable to help clients createlasting memories.”Clearly explaining how you are going to find your potential clientsthe best travel deals is another great selling strategy. InteleTravel– STE P H A N IE GO L DB E R G G L A Z E Radvisor Stephanie Goldberg Glazer reveals, “It is helpful for myclients to break things down by value to them.” If clients do notunderstand how you are going to save them money, they may think they can book travel on their own andspend the same amount—maybe less. This is why InteleTravel is always there for their advisors in casethey need any questions answered or clarification, especially when they are just getting started. However, InteleTravel does not require you to have a certain number of clients or any clients for that matter. If you just want to utilize the discounts you receive as an advisor for your own adventures, don’t even worryabout finding clients. There are not any quotas you haveto meet, so only booking one or two trips a year forFOR MORE TIPS ON SUCCEEDING AS AN ADVISOR,yourself is not only allowed, it is encouraged!SUBSCRIBE TO THE INTELETRAVEL ADVISOR BLOGInteleTravel: The Original At-Home Travel Agency 1-800-873-5353 www.inteletravel.com8
