DefinitionsFor the purpose of better understanding this tariff, the words and expressions listed below shall havethe following meanings:Abbreviations: The following abbreviations will be tt-hour(s)Load FactorOverhead SystemPower FactorReactive Kilovolt-ampere(s)Reactive Volt-ampere(s)Reactive Kilovolt-ampere(s) HoursUnderground SystemVolt-ampere(s)Watt(s)- HP- kVA- kW- kWh- LF- OH- PF- kVAr- VAr- rKVAh- UG- VA-WAdd Consumption: The algebraic sum of readings of multiple metering points for one customer atone premise as though the customer’s energy delivery were through one meter.Agreement or Application: A contract or service request for a supply of electric service.Apartment: Premises containing two or more individual residential dwelling units. Hotels, tourist camps,motels, hospitals, nursing homes, etc., consisting primarily of guest rooms and/or transientaccommodations, are not included.Auxiliary Service: Service supplied for a part of Customer's load requirements, the wiring for which isentirely separate and apart from the wiring to the remainder of Customer's electric requirements whenthe latter are furnished by Customer's privately-owned generating equipment.Billing kW or Billing kVA: Customer's maximum load expressed in kW or kVA (as adjusted inaccordance with the applicable rate) which will be used in the calculation of the bill.Billing Cycle: Company's schedule for meter reading and billing which distributes the starting dates forbilling periods throughout the month.Billing Period or Month: The interval between two consecutive meter readings that are taken for billingpurposes. Such readings will be taken as nearly as practicable every 30 days. All rate schedules areon the basis of charges per month unless otherwise specifically stated in the rate schedule.Breakdown, Reserve or Standby Capacity: Service available for Customer's load requirements inwhole, or in part, for use in the event of temporary failure of Customer's privately-owned generatingequipment.Commission: Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission - the regulatory body in Indiana.Company: Duke Energy Indiana, LLC, sometimes referred to as Duke Energy Indiana or Duke Energy.Issued: June 29, 2020Effective:

The horsepower rating of amotor can be converted into kilowatts, as follows:1 HP 0.746 kWkVa: 1,000 volt-amperes (VA). Service may come from a dedicated substation, or from a proximate distributioncircuit that does not serve other primary and/or secondary served customers. Tariff on File2.1A copy of the Tariff is on file with the Commission, available on theinternetataddress https://www.duke-energy.com. A copy of the Rules and Regulations of Service einternetathttp://www.in.gov/legislative/iac/iac title?iact 170.2.2The Commission has continuing jurisdiction over the Tariff in its entirety. The Tariff, or any partthereof, may be revised, amended, or otherwise changed from time to time in the mannerprescribed by the Public Service Commission Act of Indiana (as amended) or by other applicablelaws, and any such changes, when approved by the Commission, will supersede the presentTariff.2.3The General Terms and Conditions for Electric Service sets forth the conditions under whichservice is to be rendered, and governs all classes of service to the extent applicable. In case ofconflict between any provision of a Rate Schedule and/or Rider and the General Terms andConditions for Electric Service, the provisions of the Rate Schedule and/or Rider shall prevail.2.4Company shall have the right to execute contracts for service under any Rate Schedule andRider.
