Marty Copefrom Park Cities PCA in Dallas, Texas, where he has served for the past eleven years.From 1999 through 2001, J. Marty served as organist at Calvary Church in Charlotte,North Carolina. While at Calvary, he administered the Tenth Anniversary Series,celebrating the ten-year anniversary of the Calvary Grand Organ installation. TheCalvary organ is featured on his CD recording, A Thousand Voices along withTim Zimmerman and the King’s Brass. J. Marty completed his undergraduate studies atSt. Olaf College in Minnesota. There he studied organ with John Ferguson, choralconducting with Robert Scholz and Anton Armstrong, and sang in the St. Olaf Choir. AtIndiana University, he gained the Master of Music degree, studying organ performance(with Larry Smith and Marilyn Keiser) and choral conducting. Later, he obtained theMaster of Music in Choral Studies degree at Cambridge University, UK, where hestudied choral conducting with Stephen Layton. In 2015, J. Marty began serving asDirector of Music at Park Cities Presbyterian Church in Dallas, Texas. In 2015, hecomposed and conducted the score for the children’s film, The Defense of New Haven,performed by the London Symphony Orchestra. J. Marty lives in Dallas with hiswife Marissa, daughter Genevieve, and son, JM.5
