2015 Math RIT Rulers And Band Charts - Mentor Program
2015-2016 Math RIT Rulers and RIT Band ChartsNWEA has provided new 2015 norms to use with the MAP test. There are two documents for eachtesting window in math-- two for fall, two for winter, and two for spring. The traditional RITRulers NCSD has been using are included.RIT RULERSThere have been some slight modifications to mirror some changes in requirements at the statelevel. There are three columns on the RIT Ruler. The three columns illustrate the percentile rankings from the 2015 NWEA MAP norms,which are norm referenced scores.o The pink column represents below grade level. If RIT scores fall in the pink range,they are performing like 1-39% of their peers across the nation.o The yellow column represents on grade level. If RIT scores fall in the yellow range,they are performing like 40-75% of their peers across the nation.o The green column represents above grade level. If RIT scores fall in the green range,they are performing like 76-100% of their peers across the nation. There is not a blue column on the math RIT ruler (like in reading) because the state has notset cut scores for proficiency levels on the MAP test in math. At this time there has notbeen communication that the state has plans to do this in math.RIT BAND CHARTSThe RIT Band Charts contain the same information as the RIT Rulers but in more detail. Thecolored bands correspond with the columns on the RIT Ruler. However, if a teacher wants toknow the exact percentile, the RIT Band Chart will provide that information.
