Reckon 2020 Installation Switcher GuideReckon Installation SwitcherInformationPlease DO NOT install Reckon Personal 2020 (RAP 2020) on a computer that already has earlierreleases of Reckon Personal (RAP) products installed without the use of Reckon InstallationSwitcher.The 2020 switcher has been updated to work with Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1 andWindows 10.Please follow the instructions carefully to avoid corrupting the existing Reckon Personal installationsyou already have on your PC:It is recommended that only one Reckon Personal/Quicken Personal product of the same year is tobe installed for version 2007 and later. (2006 or earlier versions are to be installed as normal)Also when installing RAP, as a general rule do not install in a folder that is already used by anotherReckon Installation Switcher snapshot. Make sure that you install RAP in a new folder.OTHER INFORMATIONQuicken Personal products refer to previous CashBook releases, previous Quicken Personalreleases, Quicken Personal Plus releases and previous Quicken Home & Business release.Quicken 2012 refers to Quicken Personal 2012, Quicken Personal Plus 2012 or Quicken Home andBusiness 2012.Reckon Personal products refer to Reckon Personal range for 2020, 2019, 2018, 2017, 2016,2015 and, 2013 and previous releases of Quicken Personal products.Note: If you do not have access to older version of Reckon Personal (RAP) or having a problem toinstall an older version of RAP/Quicken Personal from CD. Please use the following instructions if you do NOT have a previous versionof Reckon Personal or the Installation Switcher installed on your PC.NOTE: For Quicken 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 and RAP 2013,2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 follow the same instructions as Reckon Personal2020.New Users of Reckon PersonalInstall Reckon Personal 20201. Install RAP 2020 by downloading from Members Site and following the screeninstructions.2. Activate your Reckon Personal product by clicking on the RAP 2020 icon onyour desktop.Install Reckon 2020 Installation Switcher1. Download the software from the link provided.2. Run the Reckon Installation Switcher 2020.exe to install the Reckon2020 Installation Switcher and follow the installation prompts.Create a snapshot of RAP 20201. Exit Rap if it’s open.2. Open the Reckon 2020 Installation Switcher, go to the Start menu,click All Programs and then click Reckon Installation Switcher ordouble-click the desktop icon.3. Click Take a Snapshot in the Reckon 2020 Installation Switcher.4. Select the version, level of the Reckon Personal product you are currentlyusing, e.g. Personal, Personal Plus or Home & Business. (Note: there is noPersonal level for 2020)5. Select the country, e.g. Australia.6. Browse to find the executable path of this Reckon Personal product.Default installation locations:C:\Program Files (x86)\Reckon Accounts Personal\qw.exe (64 bits OS)C:\Program Files\Reckon Accounts Personal Personal\qw.exe (32 bits OS)7. Find the qw.exe file and click Open.8. Click OK in the Take a Snapshot window and save the sn a p shot.9. Click Clean Environment.10. Close the Reckon 2020 Installation Switcher.Page 3 of 10
Using Reckon Installation SwitcherOnce you have saved the version of Reckon Personal product in your ReckonInstallation Switcher, you need to:1. Open the Reckon Installation Switcher.2. Select the version of Reckon Personal product you want to run.3. Click on Run in a clean environment to be able to run the version of ReckonPersonal product you want to use.If you require more snapshots do the following:Create more snapshots of Reckon Personal productsIf you are installing 2007 or later versions of Reckon Personal productsincluding Reckon Personal 2020, you can install only one Reckon product for agiven year, e.g. If you already had Reckon Accounts Home & Business 2018saved as a snapshot, you will not be able to install Reckon 2018 PersonalPlus.However, you can still install Reckon Personal versions of a different year, e.g. 2007,2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 in a differentdirectory as follows:1. Install Reckon Personal by inserting the CD and following the screen instructions.2. Activate your Reckon Personal installation by double-clicking the ReckonPersonal icon on your desktop.3. Repeat the same steps under Take a Snapshot of Reckon Personal.If you are installing Reckon Personal 2006 or earlier versions do the following:1. Install Reckon Personal by inserting the CD and following the screen instructions.2. Run Reckon Personal by double-clicking the Reckon Personal icon on your desktop.3. Download the software from the link provided.2. Run the Reckon Installation Switcher2020.exe to install theReckon Instal all RAP 2020 snapshot that you want to use, do the following:1.2.3.4.Open Reckon Installation Switcher.Click Clean Environment.Close Reckon Installation Switcher.Re-Install RAP 2020 in the directory where RAP 2020 exists (not theuninstalled path) and make a note of the Reckon version levels (Home& Business, Personal Plus or Personal) you are installing over.Page 9 of 10

If you do not follow all these instructions, your RAP 2020snapshots will fail!Please Note:Even though you have uninstalled your RAP, snapshots taken will still show in theReckon Switcher Available Environments window.How to Delete Snapshots taken using the Reckon Installation Switcher andnot show in the “Available Environments” after uninstalling RAP.1.
