MASC 2 Comparative Report for Jennifer LIntroductionThe Multidimensional Anxiety Scale for Children 2nd Edition (MASC 2 ) is a comprehensive, multi-raterassessment of anxiety dimensions in children and adolescents aged 8 to 19. The MASC 2 indexes therange and severity of anxiety symptoms, and can be a useful adjunct to the diagnosis of anxiety disorders. When combined with other valid sources of information, the MASC 2 can aid in the early identification ofanxiety-prone youth, as well as in planning and monitoring of treatment. This report combines the results forJennifer L from up to five raters about her reported anxiety symptoms. This report provides a multi-raterperspective and highlights potentially important inter-rater differences in scores. Please note that thisComparative Report is intended to provide an overview of similarities and differences in scores betweenraters. For detailed information about any given administration, please refer to the MASC 2 AssessmentReports. Additional interpretive information is found in the Multidimensional Anxiety Scale 2nd EditionTechnical Manual (published by MHS).This computerized report is an interpretive aid and should not be provided to parents, teachers, or youth, orused as the sole criterion for clinical diagnosis or intervention. Administrators are cautioned against drawingunsupported interpretations. To obtain a comprehensive view of the individual, information from this reportshould be combined with information gathered from other psychometric measures, interviews, observations, and review of available records. This report is based on an algorithm that produces the most commoninterpretations of the obtained scores. Administrators should review the raters' responses to specific items toensure that these interpretations apply.ELPResponse Style AnalysisThe following table presents each rater’s score on the Inconsistency Index. On any given administration, an“inconsistent response style” means that the rater’s responses to similar items were highly inconsistent.Other scale scores on that particular administration may not accurately reflect the rated individual’sexperience with anxiety. Interpretation should focus on understanding why responses to similar items aredifferent.Raw 9/2012)34Inconsistent response style not indicated. MASC 2 Comparative Report for Jennifer LMASC 2 Scores: Scale-Level Comparisons Across RatersThe following graphs display the scores for each scale that were obtained from each rater. If a statisticaldifference is noted between a pair of raters, then the difference between those two ratings reached statisticalsignificance (p .10) and/or was at least 10 T-score points (1 Standard Deviation) apart. Statisticalsignificance is denoted with this symbol ( ). Higher scores indicate more severe and/or a greater number ofsymptoms. The MASC 2 Anxiety Probability Score is based on pr to which Jennifer L is experiencing signs andsymptoms of anxiety.
