Step #1: Get familiar with Miva Merchant Here’s a quick guide to walk you through some of our store terminology. Below is a close up ofMiva Merchant’s Page Menu which shows you the options you can use to customize the look ofyour store pages.Miva Merchant’s Admin InterfaceThese options include: Categories Products Pages Items Customer FieldsHeader & FooterButtonsMisc. Colors Fonts HEAD Tag ContentNavigation BarGlobal Header & FooterBODY TagExplanation of terms relating to Categories and Products:CategoriesIn Miva Merchant you group products into categories to organize your store for easiershopping. A very simple store with just a few products might use only one category. Largerstores, with a variety of products, can create many categories and subcategories.Categories are the primary way of organizing and displaying products. Products that arenot assigned to any category appear only on the Product List screen, which the shopper canaccess from the top navigation bar in your store.1Category Code: Any unique combination of letters and/or numbers to identify your category(i.e. FG for Frogs, SP for Supplies, etc.)2Category Name: A name for your category (i.e. Frogs, Supplies)ProductsA product can be assigned to multiple categories. For instance, a musical instrument storemight categorize products both by type of instrument (guitars, keyboards, etc.), and bymanufacturer.Quick Start Guide for Designers using Miva Merchant 5—Published 10/21/2009Page 2

It can either bemodified with your own custom fonts, colors and buttons or can be turned off and replaced withyour own nav bar.Store Morph Technology:Miva Merchant’s Store Morph Technology (SMT), gives you full control over the contentsand layout of each store page.
