1831: Cyrus Hall McCormick invents themechanical reaper.1842: Jerome Increase Case establishesRacine Threshing Machine Works in Racine,Wisconsin.1848: Cyrus Hall McCormick establishesMcCormick Harvesting Machine Company inChicago, Illinois.1869: J.I. Case and Company produces thefirst steam engine tractor. The tractor is wheelmounted, but still drawn by horses and is usedonly for belt power.1892: Case builds first gasoline tractor,called the „Paterson Tractor.“ Case is thefirst of the old-line harvester companies tobuild a gas tractor.1902: International Harvester Company isfounded on July 28, 1902.
