It is the responsibility of the owner to ensurethat all users of this treadmill are adequatelyinformed of all warnings and precautions.12. Wear appropriate exercise clothes whileusing the treadmill. Do not wear looseclothes that could become caught in thetreadmill. Athletic support clothes are recommended for both men and women. Alwayswear athletic shoes. Never use the treadmillwith bare feet, wearing only stockings, or insandals.2. Before beginning any exercise program,consult your physician. This is especiallyimportant for persons over age 35 or personswith pre-existing health problems.3. The treadmill is not intended for use bypersons with reduced physical, sensory,or mental capabilities or lack of experienceand knowledge unless they have been givensupervision or instruction concerning useof the treadmill by someone responsible fortheir safety.13. When connecting the power cord (seepage 17), plug the power cord into an earthedcircuit. No other appliance should be on thesame circuit. When replacing the fuse in thepower cord adapter, insert an ASTA-approvedBS1362, 13-amp fuse into the fuse carrier.14. If an extension cord is needed, use only a3-conductor, 14-gauge (2 mm2) cord that isno longer than 5 ft. (1.5 m).4. Use the treadmill only as described in thismanual.5. The treadmill is intended for home use only.Do not use the treadmill in any commercial,rental, or institutional setting.15. Keep the power cord away from heatedsurfaces.16. Never move the walking belt while the poweris turned off. Do not operate the treadmillif the power cord or plug is damaged, or ifthe treadmill is not working properly. (SeeMAINTENANCE AND TROUBLESHOOTINGon page 29 if the treadmill is not workingproperly.)6. Keep the treadmill indoors, away from moisture and dust. Do not put the treadmill in agarage or covered patio, or near water.7. Place the treadmill on a level surface, withat least 8 ft. (2.4 m) of clearance behind itand 2 ft. (0.6 m) on each side. Do not placethe treadmill on any surface that blocks airopenings. To protect the floor or carpet fromdamage, place a mat under the treadmill.17. Read, understand, and test the emergencystop procedure before using the treadmill(see HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER onpage 19). Always wear the clip while using thetreadmill.8. Do not operate the treadmill where aerosolproducts are used or where oxygen is beingadministered.18. Always stand on the foot rails when startingor stopping the walking belt. Always hold thehandrails while using the treadmill.9. Keep children under age 16 and pets awayfrom the treadmill at all times.19. When a person is walking on the treadmill,the noise level of the treadmill will increase.10. The treadmill should be used only by persons weighing 300 lbs. (136 kg) or less.20. Keep fingers, hair, and clothing away fromthe moving walking belt.11. Never allow more than one person on thetreadmill at a time.3

27. Inspect and properly tighten all parts eachtime the treadmill is used.21. The treadmill is capable of high speeds.Adjust the speed in small increments toavoid sudden jumps in speed.28.22. Never leave the treadmill unattended whileit is running. Always remove the key, pressthe power switch into the off position (seethe drawing on page 5 for the location of thepower switch), and unplug the power cordwhen the treadmill is not in use.DANGER: Always unplug the powercord immediately after use, before cleaning the treadmill, and before performing themaintenance and adjustment proceduresdescribed in this manual. Never remove themotor hood unless instructed to do so by anauthorized service representative. Servicingother than the procedures in this manualshould be performed by an authorized service representative only.23. Do not attempt to move the treadmill untilit is properly assembled. (See ASSEMBLYon page 7 and HOW TO FOLD AND MOVETHE TREADMILL on page 28.) You must beable to safely lift 45 lbs. (20 kg) to move thetreadmill.29. Over exercising may result in serious injuryor death. If you feel faint, if you become shortof breath, or if you experience pain whileexercising, stop immediately and cool down.24. When folding or moving the treadmill, makesure that the storage latch is holding theframe securely in the storage position. Donot operate the treadmill while it is folded.30. IMPORTANT: To satisfy exposure compliancerequirements, the antenna and transmitter in the console must be at least 8 in.(20 cm) from all persons and must not benear or connected to any other antenna ortransmitter.25. PART IDENTIFICATION CHARTUse the drawings below to identify small parts used for assembly. The number in parentheses below each drawing is the key number of the part, from the PART LIST near the end of this manual. The number following the keynumber is the quantity used for assembly. Note: If a part is not in the hardware kit, check to see whether it ispreattached. ASSEMBLY Assembly requires two persons. Left parts are marked “L” or “Left” and right partsare marked “R” or “Right.” Place all parts in a cleared area and remove thepacking materials. Do not dispose of the packingmaterials until you finish all assembly steps. Assembly requires the following tools:the included hex key After shipping, there may be an oily substanceon the exterior of the treadmill. This is normal. Ifthere is an oily substance on the treadmill, wipeit off with a soft cloth and a mild, non-abrasivecleaner.one adjustable wrenchone Phillips screwdriverTo avoid damaging parts, do not use power tools. 2. Make sure that the power cord is unplugged.2ARemove the tie securing the Upright Wire (83) tothe front of the Base (93).83Next, identify the Right Upright (84). Have asecond person hold the Right Upright near theBase (93).8384See the inset drawing. Tie the wire tie (A) inthe Right Upright (84) securely around the endof the Upright Wire (83). Then, insert the UprightWire into the lower end of the Right Upright, andpull the other end of the wire tie, until the UprightWire is routed through the Right Upright.A8493833. Lay the Right Upright (84) near the Base (93).Press the Upright Grommet (86) into the squarehole (B) in the Right Upright. Make sure not topinch the ground wire (C).3If there is a screw (D) preattached to the RightUpright (84), remove and discard it.Then, attach the ground wire (C) to the RightUpright (84) with a Ground Screw (7).93786CDB848

4. Hold the Right Upright (84) against the Base(93). Make sure not to pinch the UprightWire (83).423Attach the Right Upright (84) with two 3/8" x2 3/4" Screws (23), two 3/8" x 1 1/4" Screws(20), and four 3/8" Star Washers (25) as shown;do not fully tighten the Screws yet.25Attach the Left Upright (not shown) in thesame way. Carefully slide the Upright Crossbar (76)between the Right and Left Uprights (84, 91).Attach the Upright Crossbar with four 5/16" x3/4" Screws (1); start all four Screws, and thentighten them.6761191847. Attach the Tray (79) to the Upright Crossbar (76)with four #8 x 3/4" Truss Head Screws (24); startall four Truss Head Screws, and then tightenthem.77924107624

8. Attach the two Handrails (74) to the Right andLeft Uprights (84, 91) with two 5/16" x 2" Screws(2) and two 5/16" Star Washers (8); do notfully tighten the Screws yet. Be careful not topinch the Upright Wire (83) on the right side.Position the Upright Wire in the indicatednotch (F) as shown.828G742Then, remove and discard the two indicatedscrews (G).74838GF91849. IMPORTANT: To avoid damaging the HandrailCrossbar (80), do not use power tools, and donot overtighten the #10 x 3/4" Screws (6) orthe 5/16" x 2" Screws (2).10268Orient the Handrail Crossbar (80) as shown.Attach the Handrail Crossbar to the Handrails(74) with two 5/16" x 2" Screws (2), two 5/16" StarWashers (8), and two #10 x 3/4" Screws (6); startall four Screws, and then tighten them.80274268Then, tighten the other two 5/16" x 2"Screws (2).27411. With the help of a second person, hold the console assembly (H) near the Handrails (74).11If there is a ground wire(s) (P) coming fromthe console assembly (H), connect it to theConsole Ground Wire(s) (32) on the HandrailCrossbar (80).Connect the Upright Wire (83) to the console wire (J). The connectors should slidetogether easily and snap into place with anaudible click. 12. Attach the console assembly (H) to the Handrails(74) with four 5/16" x 2" Screws (2) and four5/16" Star Washers (8); start all four Screws,and then tighten them. Be careful not topinch the wires (J).12H74Insert any excess wire (J) into the top of theRight Upright (84).74J88228413. Locate the Wire Tie (124) included with the hardware. Insert the Wire Tie through the small hole(K) in the side of the Right Upright (84). Then,tighten the Wire Tie around the wires (J), and cutoff the end of the Wire Tie.13J84124K13

14. Start eight #8 x 3/4" Truss Head Screws (24)into the Handrail Crossbar (80), and then tightenthem; do not overtighten the Truss HeadScrews.14802424242415. Set the Left Handrail Top Cover (73) on the leftHandrail (74). Next, start four #8 x 3/4" TrussHead Screws (24) into the Left Handrail BottomCover (75), the left Handrail, and the LeftHandrail Top Cover.15HNext, slide the Left Handrail Top and BottomCovers (73, 75) forward against the consoleassembly (H) as shown. Tighten the two middleTruss Head Screws first. 16. Raise the Frame (52) to the upright position.Have a second person hold the Frame untilstep 18 is completed.16Remove the two 5/16" x 1 1/4" Screws (16) fromthe Latch Crossbar (109).MLNext, orient the Latch Crossbar (109) as shown.Make sure that the “This side toward belt”sticker (L) is facing the treadmill.MAttach the Latch Crossbar (109) to the brackets(M) on the Frame (52) with the two 5/16" x 1 1/4"Screws (16) and two 5/16" Star Washers (8).17. Remove the 5/16" Nut (9) and the 5/16" x2 1/4" Bolt (4) from the bracket on the LatchCrossbar (109).189O 1094Align the upper end of the Storage Latch (56)with the bracket on the Latch Crossbar (109),and insert the 5/16" x 2 1/4" Bolt (4) through thebracket and the Storage Latch. This will push aspacer (O) out of the Storage Latch; discardthe spacer.5256Next, tighten the 5/16" Nut (9) onto the 5/16" x2 1/4" Bolt (4). Do not overtighten the Nut; theStorage Latch (56) must be able to pivot.Then, lower the Frame (52) (see HOW TOLOWER THE TREADMILL FOR USE on page 28).19. Make sure that all parts are properly tightened before you use the treadmill. If there are sheets of plasticon the treadmill decals, remove the plastic. To protect the floor or carpet, place a mat under the treadmill. Toavoid damage to the console, keep the treadmill out of direct sunlight. Keep the included hex keys in a secureplace; one of the hex keys is used to adjust the walking belt (see pages 31 and 32). Note: Extra parts may beincluded.16

HOW TO USE THE TREADMILLHOW TO PLUG IN THE POWER CORDFollow the steps below to plug in the power cord.This product must be earthed. If it should malfunction or break down, earthing provides a path of leastresistance for electric current to reduce the risk ofelectric shock. This product’s power cord has anequipment-earthing conductor and an earthing plug.IMPORTANT: If the power cord is damaged, it mustbe replaced with a manufacturer-recommendedpower cord.1. Plug the indicated end of the power cord (A) into thesocket (B) on the treadmill.ABDANGER:Improper connection ofthe equipment-earthing conductor can resultin an increased risk of electric shock. Checkwith a qualified electrician or serviceman ifyou are in doubt as to whether the productis properly earthed. Do not modify the plugprovided with the product—if it will not fitthe outlet, have a proper outlet installed by aqualified electrician.2. Plug the other end of the power cord (A) into anappropriate outlet (C) that is properly installed andearthed in accordance with all local codes andordinances.UKAustraliaCA17CA

CONSOLE DIAGRAMYou can also measure your heart rate when you use acompatible wearable heart rate monitor. See page 27to purchase a wearable heart rate monitor.FEATURES OF THE CONSOLEThe advanced treadmill console offers a selection offeatures designed to make your workouts more effective and enjoyable.In addition, the console features a selection ofworkouts. Each workout automatically controls thespeed and incline of the treadmill as it guides youthrough an effective exercise session.The console features wireless technology that enablesthe console to connect to iFit. With iFit, you can accessa large and varied workout library, create your ownworkouts, track your workout results, and access manyother features.You can even listen to your favorite workout music oraudio books with the console’s sound system while youexercise.When you use the manual mode, you can change thespeed and incline of the treadmill with the touch of abutton. As you exercise, the console will display instantexercise feedback.To turn on the power, see page 19. To learn how touse the touch screen, see page 19. To set up theconsole, see page 20.18

HOW TO TURN ON THE POWERHOW TO USE THE TOUCH SCREENIMPORTANT: If the treadmill has been exposed tocold temperatures, allow it to warm to room temperature before you turn on the power. If you donot do this, you may damage the console displaysor other electrical components.The console features a tablet with a full-color touchscreen. The following information will help you becomefamiliar with the tablet’s advanced technology:Plug in the power cord (seepage 17). Next, locate thepower switch on the treadmill frame near the powercord. Press the power switchinto the reset position (D). The console functions similarly to other tablets.You can slide or flick your finger against the screento move certain images on the screen, such asthe displays in a workout (see step 5 on page 21).However, you cannot zoom in and out by sliding yourfingers on the screen.D The screen is not pressure sensitive. You do notneed to press hard on the screen.Next, stand on thefoot rails of thetreadmill. Locatethe clip (E) attachedto the key (F),Fand slide the clipsecurely onto thewaistband of yourEclothes. Then,insert the key intothe console. Note:It may take some time for the console to be readyfor use. IMPORTANT: In an emergency, the key canbe pulled from the console, causing the walkingbelt to slow to a stop. Test the clip by carefully taking a few steps backward; if the key is not pulledfrom the console, adjust the position of the clip. To type information into a text box, touch the textbox to view the keyboard. To use numbers or othercharacters on the keyboard, touch the ?123 button.To view more characters, touch the [ button. Touchthe ?123 button to return to the number keyboard. Toreturn to the letter keyboard, touch the ABC button.To use a capital character, touch the button with anupward-facing arrow. To use multiple capital characters, touch the arrow button again. To return to thelowercase keyboard, touch the arrow button a thirdtime. To clear the last character, touch the buttonwith a backward-facing arrow and an X.Note: The console can display speed and distance ineither miles or kilometers. To find which unit of measurement is selected, see HOW CHANGE CONSOLESETTINGS on page 24.19

HOW TO SET UP THE CONSOLEThe console is now ready for you to begin working out.The following pages explain the various workouts andother features that the console offers.Before using the treadmill for the first time, set up theconsole.To use the manual mode, see below. To use a mapworkout, see page 22. To use a draw your own mapworkout, see page 22. To use a distance or timeworkout, see page 23.1. Connect to your wireless network.To access the internet, download iFit workouts, anduse several other features of the console, you mustbe connected to a wireless network. Follow theprompts on the screen to connect the console toyour wireless network.To view or change console settings, see page 24.To connect to a wireless network, see page 25. Touse the sound system, see page 26. To adjust theangle of the console screen, see page 27.2. Customize settings.IMPORTANT: If there are sheets of plastic on theconsole, remove the plastic. To prevent damageto the walking platform, wear clean athletic shoeswhile using the treadmill. The first time you usethe treadmill, observe the alignment of the walkingbelt, and center the walking belt if necessary (seepage 31).Fill in the form on the screen to set the consoleto display the desired unit of measurement andyour time zone. Note: If you need to change thesesettings later, see HOW TO CHANGE CONSOLESETTINGS on page 24.3. Log into or create an iFit account.Provide your email address, and follow the promptson the screen to sign up for or log into your iFitaccount.HOW TO USE THE MANUAL MODE1. Insert the key into the console.4. Check for firmware updates.See HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER on page 19.Note: It may take some time for the console tobe ready for use.First, touch your name or Hello on the screen, andthen touch Settings. Next, select the maintenancesection. Then, touch Update to check for firmwareupdates using your wireless network. See step 5on page 25 for more information.2. Select the main menu.When you turn on the power, the main menu willappear after the console boots up. If you are in aworkout or the settings menu, touch the back arrowor the x on the screen to return to the main menu.5. Calibrate the incline system.First, touch your name or Hello on the screen.Next, select the settings main menu. Then, selectthe maintenance section, touch Calibrate Incline,and then touch Begin to calibrate the incline system. See step 6 on page 25 for more information.Note: If you plan to use a wearable heart rate monitor with the console, you must put on the heart ratemonitor before you start the walking belt. Theconsole will automatically search for the heart ratemonitor for 30 seconds when you start the walkingbelt at the beginning of each workout. See page 27to purchase a wearable heart rate monitor.20

Additional information is also available. To view orbrowse additional statistics and charts, swipe downfrom the top of the screen. You can also touchthe button on the screen to view stats or charts.Note: To record heart rate information, a compatible heart rate monitor must be in use (seepage 27).3. Start the walking belt and adjust the speed.Touch Manual Start on the screen or press theStart button on the console to start the walking belt.The walking belt will begin to move at a low speed.As you exercise, change the speed of the walking belt as desired by pressing the speed increaseand decrease buttons. Change the incline of the treadmill as desired.To change the incline of the treadmill, press theincline increase and decrease buttons or one of thenumbered incline buttons.
