LIONS PRIDE November 2017 Elementary News FIRST PLACE JOHNNY APPLESEED WINNER- MRS. WHITTEN, 2ND GRADE CLASS Our first nine weeks of school have been going well. We have enjoyed getting to know each other and meeting new friends. We celebrated Johnny Appleseed’s birthday by having a door decorating contest. Judging was based on originality, details, use of theme, and creativity. Our first place winner was Mrs. Whitten’s 2nd grade class. Second place was Mrs. Thomas’ 5th grade class, and third place went to Mrs. Jacob’s K5 class. Congratulations to all of you. We also had our Fall Book Fair and appreciate everyone who purchased books. Elementary has been collecting canned goods and non-perishable foods for the needy, along with the Salvation Army, since October 23rd. We will continue collecting these items through Friday, November 10th. Please bring in your donations and place them on the table outside of the clinic located in the elementary hallway. Our goal is to collect 250 cans. We are hoping for at least one can per child, so that we can really help those less fortunate. We appreciate your help and thank you so much in advance. The elementary office looks forward to an exciting year and we will continue to provide you with exciting updates. 3
