Menu ProfitBuilder Pro Online – Creating and Using Meal Plans in MPP Overview of Meal Plans in MPP Meal Plans are a useful component of Menu Profitbuilder pro, especially for users who wish to determine food cost and gross profit for catered events or other large meal production. A meal plan allows users to blend a combination of ingredients, recipe servings and menu items into a single “event” or daypart. Menu ProfitBuilder Pro Online – Creating and Using Meal Plans in MPP By using Meal Plans, the user can price and analyze food cost, and gross profit for catering events or other large meal production. Meal Plans also allow the user to produce a requirements list of ingredients, blending the total cases required for all ingredients into a single “pull from inventory” list. Next, from the pull down menu that appears, select ‘Meal Plans.” 2 3. Click the ‘Add New Meal Plan’ link 3 For the exclusive use of US Foods customers and employees Page 6 of 12

In this example we are charging 18.95 per person for 100 guests, so the total sale price is 1895.00. Finally, click the ‘Save’ button. 4 5. The detail screen is now updated, the meal plan is given a unique ID number, and we can begin to add ingredients, recipes, or menu items. 5 6. For our Italian dinner for 100, we will start by adding 75 servings of our lasagna menu item. When the Meal Plan Detail is displayed, our lasagna has been added. Now enter 75 for the number of servings. 8 9. Notice how our meal plan cost, food cost percentage and gross profit calculations have updated with the addition of the lasagna to our meal plan. Next we will add another menu item. 9 10. Next we will add another menu item. Again, we will enter the search term and select menu item as the search source. The pasta is now added to the meal plan. Now enter the number of servings as 25. 12 13. We will need to enter some disposable flatware for this event. We will search for this in the US foods product catalog. 13 14. On the search results screen that is displayed, select the desired forks and enter 120 for the quantity and each as the unit of measure. Notice the green check mark in the ‘OG’ column. Continue adding all required ingredients, recipes and menu items for the meal plan. Our food cost percentage is 24.15%, and our gross profit dollars are 1437.28. 17 18. To assist with planning and ordering for our event, we can produce a theoretical case usage report for our meal plan. To do this, return to the meal plan summary screen, and select options for the desired meal plan. Click the ‘Options’ button and select ‘Theoretical Case Usage.’ 18 For the exclusive use of US Foods customers and employees Page 11 of 12

This report displays the precise cost and number of cases required to produce the meal plan including the contents of each recipe and menu item.
