This Operation Manual provides the information of EPS series servo motor drivers and DN series servo motor, including: z Servo motor drivers and servo motor installation and inspection z Servo motor drivers’ components instructions z Trial Run steps z Servo motor drivers’ control function introduction and adjustment method z Parameters instructions z Communications Protocol instructions z Inspection and maintenance z Exception elimination This manual is intended for: z Servomechanism System designers z Installation and wiring personnel z Trial Run and adjustment personnel z Maintenance and inspection personnel z Other electrical-related personnel Please read this manual carefully before using our product, in order to ensure correct usage. In addition, please place it in an appropriate and safe place to keep it handy for reference. Please follow the instructions before you finish reading this manual: z z z z z z No vapor, corrosive gas or combustible gas allowed in the installation environment The three-phase power is prohibited from connecting to the motor U, V, W connectors, misconnection would lead to damage of the servo motor drivers and servo motor Grounding project should be implemented and the implementation should be complied with the relevant existing national electrical codes Do not disassemble the motor drivers and motor or change wiring when current is on Make sure the emergency stop device is activatable before the current is on Do not touch the radiator in case of burning when the current is on Any other questions when using the product, please contact your dealer or our customer service center. 1

产品确认与型号说明/EPS 系列交流伺服驱动器用户手册 Safety notification Please pay close attention to the following safety notifications during the processes of reception inspection, installation, wiring, operation, maintenance and inspection. Following is the meaning of each pictogram: Represents "MUST NOT" operations, which, if not avoided, would result in product damage or malfunction. Indicates potential dangers, which, if not avoided, might lead to moderate injury of personnel or severe damage of the products, and even malfunctions. Indicates potential dangers, which, if not avoided, might lead to severe or fatal injury of the personnel. Reception inspection ¾ Please adopt the designated combination approach when using servo motor drivers and AC servo motor. Otherwise it might lead to fire or device malfunctions. Installation notification ¾ Wiring notification ¾ ¾ ¾ ¾ Exposure to any circumstances containing vapor, corrosive gas, or combustible gas prohibited. Otherwise it might lead to electric shock or fire. Please connect the protective earthing terminal to grounding system under 100Ω. Imperfect grounding might result in electric shock or fire. The three-phase power is prohibited from connecting to the motor U, V, W connectors, or it might end up with fire. Please tighten the mounting screws of the power and motor output terminal, or it might cause fire. To avoid danger, please refer to the wire selection instructions when wiring. Operation notification ¾ Before operation, setting values should be adjusted in compatible with the user’s parameters. Otherwise, the machine might lose control or break down. ¾ Before operation, please make sure the emergency stop device is activatable. 2

产品确认与型号说明/EPS 系列交流伺服驱动器用户手册 ¾ Do not touch any rotating components when the motor is operating, or it might cause serious injury. ¾ To prevent accidents, please separate device coupling and belt first, making them isolated. Then operate the first Trial Run. ¾ After the connection and operation of servo motor and mechanical equipment, if ¾ ¾ operational error occurs, it would result in not only severe equipment damage, but also injury sometimes. Strong recommendation: please test whether the servo motor works properly under non-loaded condition. Then the load could be connected, in order to avoid unnecessary risk. Do not touch the radiator when in operation, in case of scalding due to the heat. Maintenance and Inspection ¾ Touching servo motor drivers and servo motor interior prohibited, in case of electric shock. ¾ Removal of drivers’ panel prohibited when power is on, in case of electric shock. ¾ Touching the wire terminal prohibited within 10 minutes after power is off. Residual voltage might result in electric shock. ¾ Do not disassemble the servo motor, or it might lead to electric shock or personnel ¾ ¾ injury. Changing wiring when the power is on prohibited, in case of electric shock or personnel injury. Only qualified electrical professionals are competent for conducting the installation, wiring, repairing and maintenance of servo motor drivers and servo motor. Main circuit wiring ¾ Please do not pull motor power cables and signal cables through the same conduit, ¾ ¾ or bind them together. Make sure the distance between them should be no less than 30cm. For signal cables and encoder (PG) feedback cables, please use multi-stranded twisted-pair wires or multi-core shielded-pair wires. The maximum length of command input cable is 3m and the maximum length of PG feedback cables is 20m. Though the power is off, there still might be residual high voltage inside the servo drivers, so do not touch the power terminal temporarily (10 minutes) ¾ Please do not switch the power frequently. If needed, please act less than once per minute. 3

Respectively check the product model of the motor and the drivers on the name plate. Model instructions are listed in next section. Is the motor shaft running smoothly? Manually rotate the motor shaft, if it runs smoothly, that means the motor shaft is working normally. (Except for servo motors with “power failure brake” on it) Is there any damage on its appearance? Visually inspect is there any damage or scratches on its appearance. Has the tightened? The bit of the power adds to 4, with the unit being KW. 2. “D” represents decimal point (only applicable to power below 100KW, servo power above 100KW should all be integer) If the drivers’ power is an integer, then there won’t exist a “D” symbol in the 4-bit number. An external braking resistor can be connected between P and B if required. Driver output (Terminal for motor connection): Connect to the motor.
