www.masseyferguson.com08Head first feedChoose your tableHead first feed - start well, finish well - your header is critical to how well your combine performs with a lifetime of experience, Massey Ferguson offers you a choice of its premium PowerFlow table or high capacity FreeFlow tables.FreeFlowup to 7.6 mCombined multicoupler is standardfor quick table dismount. The Schumacher knife is the bestperforming knife in the business at1220 cuts a minute. Self-cleaningand consistently sharp; this keeps thecrop moving in tough conditions.Full width auger fingers on theFreeFlow table increase augerthroughput, ensuring positiveand fast feed into the maincrop elevator. The Power Feed Roller at the front of themain crop elevator gives a consistent cropflow from the table into the main cropelevator. It can be reversed simply andeffectively from the cab.

09FROM MASSEY FERGUSONTerraControl II provides a mix of automaticfunctions for the standard table-levelling(FreeFlow or PowerFlow), ground-followingsystem (Field pressure) and headlandmanagement – all the metrics are controlledfrom the operator’s multifunction lever. Smallchanges in height requirement can be madequickly and easily creating an even feed inchanging conditions. The automatic reelspeed function takes tasks away from theoperator so they can focus on getting thebest from the machine.PowerFlowup to 7.7 mThe optional rape auger for the PowerFlow tableincreases the flow of tall crops into the elevatorthereby increasing the output considerably. Twoelectrical side knives are available as optionscomplete the Rape seed kit.The knife is a massive 1.14m from the table auger so vision andperformance are optimum. The rugged PowerFlow belts powerthe crop away from the knife and into the main crop elevator at aconsistent speed. The belts also deflect stones rather than takingthem into the machine where they might cause damage.

www.masseyferguson.com12Threshing and separationThe flexible heart of the combine. Equipped with a robust, high-inertia cylinder and a heavyduty concave, these machines can handle crops easily. Two systemsin oneThe Multicrop separator provides a massive separationarea to remove as much of grain as possible before itreaches the walkersThe MCS (Multicrop Separator) has one uniquefeature that sets it apart from the rest, theability to rotate the concave up over the top ofthe rotary separator when it is not required. TheMCS concave is moved electrically, requiringno tools. This makes it possible to optimisemachine performance in dry conditionsreducing the load on the shaker shoes andconsiderably improving the straw quality. The threshing drum has added weight in the form of ballast bars which increases theinertia in the cylinder as the rasp bars threshes the heads. This reduces load on the drives, power requirement and fuel consumption. The concave has differentiated wire spacing, the rear section of the concave has half asmany wires as the front section. This principle provides the optimum balance between highthreshing capacity and good grain flow through the concave. The concave, front and rear, can be set from the cab independently in order to optimise the threshing quality. At the rear the main concave is extended by the Active Beater Concave which is adjustablein three positions depending on conditions.

13FROM MASSEY FERGUSONA multitudeof applicationsA full maize kit can be fitted including a maize concave. For this application the chopper speed reduction kitcomes as standard with the grain version. To increase versatility and save time Massey Fergusoncan offer an optional Sectional concave whichis designed to harvest a multitude of crops. Theconversion time when moving from small grain to largeseeded crops such as Soya, Maize and Sunflower canbe completed in minutes rather than hours.Or a Universal concave with removable elements canbe fitted if required.A special Rice cylinder / concave version canbe ordered with unique peg and tooth design, specifically for separation in tough conditions.Additional components are also fitted which haveextra wearing capability. This includes the grainaugers, elevators and the MCS teeth. Thesespecifications coupled with self-lubricatingtracks and tables specific with hard wearcomponents provide a versatile machine for riceas well as grain and maize.MF BETA

www.masseyferguson.com14ResultsThe quality of your sample affects your margin. Special attention to the shaker shoe with the use of high capacity cleaningsieves gives you the best quality sample from the field. An optional yield monitor and moisture sensor with integral SD cardcan be fitted to allow measurement and traceability for the combineThe grain tanks have a high capacity (9000 litres on standard version and 8600 litres on the ParaLevel version) while theunloading rate of 105 l/sec is one of the highest in the class.Electric Sieves operated fromthe cab enable easy attentionto the sample, high sievedividers give increased outputon undulating land. The long straw walkers feature foursteps with ‘active walls’. The 210 mmhigh, vertical sections of the walkersteps are made up of permeablegrids. These are the highest for anyconventional combine. The front stepsof the straw walkers are reinforced formaize harvestmaking the combinemuch more durable for variable cropsA simple returns sensor displaysvolume in the cab and enablingquick changes to improve thesample.

15FROM MASSEY FERGUSONAn adjustable dimple pate isstandard to make sure straw ischopped consistently.A twin rotor multi adjustable chaffspreader is available. Electricaldeflectors for the straw chopper areavailable as an option. This allowsthe straw to be directed from theuncut crop if required. The 6 row straw chopper is specifically designedto give chopping and spreading performancesuitable for farmers using reduced tillageoperations. The knives are serrated to give a cleanfine chop and reduce the power required. The fullyadjustable stationary knives and straw chopperhood ensure complete control over the quality andspread of the chopped straw. For those that require straw, the threshing system is gentleand leaves the straw in perfectcondition for baling feed andbedding straw or producingproducts for power generation.

1 Introduction Formal ontologies provide a conceptual model of a domain of interest by describing the vocabulary of that domain in terms of a logical language, such as a description logic (DL). To cater for different applications and uses of ontologies, DLs and other ontology languages vary significantly regard-ing expressive power and computational complexity (Baader et al. 2003). For .
