Types of qualificationPupils work towards two types of qualifications – traditional Academic Qualifications (ALevels) and Applied General Qualifications (BTECs and NVQs). Both types of qualificationsare equally valued and offer their own distinctive levels of challenge.Academic QualificationsThese are traditional A Level - Level 3(advanced)qualificationsrecognisedbyHigher Education institutions as fulfilling entryrequirements to a range of courses, either intheir own right or alongside other Level 3qualifications.Applied General QualificationsApplied General Qualifications are Level 3 (advanced)qualifications that provide broad study of a vocational area. They are recognised by Higher Education institutions asfulfilling entry requirements to a range of courses, either intheir own right or alongside other Level 3 qualifications.
