I feel this canbe achieved by creating multiple avenues to market ourmembers’ products. I believe the Duroc breed has becomea driving force at NJSA shows, as well as junior breedingshows across the country. It is important the UDSR keep

that trend moving forward. As a board member, I wouldstay open minded and consider what’s best for all members of the UDSR.wide. Utilizing our resources within NSR to both growand maintain the NJSA, as well as global market opportunities, should be at the top of our priority list.AT-LARGE Doug Albright, MichiganAT-LARGE Seth Ebert, OhioDoug Albright, 33, lives in Coldwater, Michigan, with his wife, Dana, and their son.Size and scope of operation:Albright Swine Farms is a 230sow farrow-to-finish operationthat sells showpigs year round, aswell as, market hogs and breeding stock. The Duroc breed itself must maintainits values on performance and growth, as we still havea demand in the commercial sector for terminal boars. With those priorities in mind, promotion is key. I also feel as industry leaders wehave a responsibility to the breeder to provide honestfeedback with the understanding that every operation hasits own goal for moving their program forward. A healthyrelationship between the organization and the breeder isvery important because we’re all just a small piece of thepuzzle, and it takes all of us working together with a common goal in mind, which is to improve the Duroc breed.Hampshire Swine Registry CandidatesEASTERN Lorelei Prichard, GeorgiaLorelei Prichard, 51, of Watkinsville,Georgia, and her husband, MichaelLowder, have a five children, Colton,Sierra, Samuel, Jacob and Quintin.Size and scope of operation: OwnOMG Showpigs founded in 2014and have 32 sows (18 Hampshire). Please describe what you feel the NationalSwine Registry (NSR)’s and/or the HampshireSwine Registry (HSR)’s role should be in assistingpurebred breeders compete in today’s market:Purebred breeders benefit when breed-specific classesare available in local and state shows and when incentives comparable to cross/market hog premiums areprovided to purebred champions.
