(A.G.A. and C.G.A.) certified for natural and propane gasesand for installation in alcoves, attics, basements, closets, utilityrooms, crawlspaces, and garages. The furnace is factory-shippedfor use with natural gas. A C.S.A. (A.G.A. and C.G.A.) listed gasconversion kit is required to convert furnace for use with propanegas. The 350MAV 040 through 120 size units are C.S.A. (A.G.A.and C.G.A.) approved for use in manufactured (mobile) homeswhen factory accessory conversion kit is used. The 140 size unit isNOT approved for use in manufactured (mobile) homes. Thesefurnaces are suitable for installation in a residence built on site ora manufactured residence completed at final site. The design ofthis furnace line is NOT C.S.A (A.G.A and C.G.A.) certified forinstallation in recreation vehicles or outdoors.AIRFLOWThese furnaces SHALL NOT be installed directly on carpeting, tile, or any other combustible material other than wood flooring. Indownflow installations, factory accessory floor base MUST beused when installed on combustible materials and wood flooring.Special base is not required when this furnace is installed onmanufacturer’s Coil Assembly Part No. CD5 or CK5, or when CoilBox Part No. KCAKC is used.UPFLOWHORIZONTALRIGHTHORIZONTALLEFTThese furnaces are shipped with the following materials to assist inproper furnace installation. These materials are shipped in the mainblower compartment.DOWNFLOWAIRFLOWAIRFLOWAIRFLOWInstaller Packet includes:Installation, Startup, and Operating InstructionsService and Maintenance InstructionsUser’s Information ManualWarranty CertificateLoose Parts Bag includesPressure tube extensionCollector Box or condensate trap extension tubeInducer housing drain tube1/2-in CPVC street elbowDrain tube couplingDrain tube coupling grommetVent and combustion-air pipe supportCondensate trap hole filler plugVent and combustion-air intake hole filler plugCombustion-air pipe perforated disk assemblyVent Pipe ExtensionA93041Fig. 1—Multipoise OrientationsSAFETY CONSIDERATIONSInstalling and servicing heating equipment can be hazardous due togas and electrical components. Only trained and qualified personnel should install, repair, or service heating equipment. Untrainedpersonnel can perform basic maintenance functions such as cleaning and replacing air filters. All other operations must be performed by trained service personnel. When working on heatingequipment, observe precautions in literature, on tags, and on labelsattached to or shipped with unit and other safety precautions thatmay apply.Follow all safety codes. In the United States, follow all safetycodes including the National Fuel Gas Code (NFGC) NFPA54-1999/ANSI Z223.1-1999 and the Installation Standards, WarmAir Heating and Air Conditioning Systems (NFPA 90B)ANSI/NFPA 90B. In Canada, refer to the current edition of theCAN/CGA-B149.1- and .2-M00 National Standard of Canada,Natural Gas and Propane Installation Codes (NSCNGPIC). Wearsafety glasses and work gloves. Have a fire extinguisher availableduring start-up and adjustment procedures and service calls.Recognize safety information. This is the safety-alert symbolWhen you see this symbol on the unit and in instructions ormanuals, be alert to the potential for personal injury.Understand these signal words DANGER, WARNING, CAUTION, and NOTE. These words are used with the safety-alertsymbol. DANGER identifies the most serious hazards which willresult in severe personal injury or death. WARNING signifieshazards which could result in personal injury or death. CAUTIONQuantity11121123211** ONLY supplied with some furnaces. These furnaces are shipped with the drain and pressure tubesconnected for UPFLOW applications. Minor modifications arerequired when used in DOWNFLOW, HORIZONTAL RIGHT, orHORIZONTAL LEFT (supply-air discharge direction) applications as shown in Fig. 1. See details in Applications section. This furnace must be installed with a direct-vent (combustion airand flue) system and a factory accessory termination kit. In adirect-vent system, all air for combustion is taken directly from theoutside atmosphere and all flue products are discharged to theoutside atmosphere. See furnace and factory accessory terminationkit instructions for proper installation.—2—
